Easily the best first half performance of the season. This is still a championship team that’s evolving into a premier league team. And they’ve just gone toe-toe with a solid PL team and looked the better bet. Yes, we need to cut out silly errors. Yes, we’ve got to manage Elanga’s threat. But in this system we look comfortable and at home. We might still lose. But surely this is the blueprint to survival? Oh, and Winks really, really didn’t like being dropped, did he!  Been superb. 😊

Carragher is bigging it up, saying he’s loving it.

He compared us to Man City at the end of the half.  He had the stat we scored in every game as well.

Really good game from a neutral perspective with both teams going for it. We've played well for the most part, just need to cut out the silly mistakes at the back. We've all been calling for Ricardo but I have to say, he was poor in that first half and I don't fancy him on a yellow against CHO. Problem is, our only full back option is Thomas and the thought of him coming on against Elanga makes me feel a bit ill.

Not a bad half. Awful goal to concede. Ricardo, Buonanotte and JJ all at fault. Fats off it at the moment. But some nice play. Great goal and Mads with brilliant save.

Yea Ive not been overly impressed with Fatawu

playing ok both our fullbacks have struggled with the pace of their wingers.

They haven't been great, we need a full back ideally one that can play both sides, Forest are a bottom half club, we will play against far better wingers. Hopefully one of either Justin or Ricardo plays themselves into form but I can't see both doing it.

It really should be 1-2 to Forest - that one save from Mads was practically a 95% goal chance.

Less than 100% doesn´t count....

Broadly decent performance, Fatawu not great and Ricardo sadly very poor

Ricardo needs more game time. Remember how long he's been side-lined for.

Send in the transfer thread we needed a LB and RB.

Probably the one of the better first half's we have put together.

No need to win it early, they will tire.

Shame riccy is on a yellow as its taken out his defensive aggression but so much better on the ball with him in the team

Decent going forward. Scary defensively

Fats and jj need to wake up.

Happy enough with that though bar the mistakes for the goal

As a counter, Ricardo lost the ball unforced error for switch of possession that led to them scoring.  That incident showed how biased the fan base is or they not looking that far back in play prior to goals been conceded.

What will we do without Mads?

I don't know... What happened the last time our Danish goalie left?

I like you I am guessing, is not a footballing hipster, Ricardo has done bugger all apart from lose the ball for the first goal, oh and hiding behind the Forest midfield to stop him having to  receive the ball. Maybe I just need to pay closer attention.  :dunno:

Very hard/harsh to judge Ricky after 45 mins of his 1st EPL game of the season. He hasnt been horrible (although not great) given time in the side he would improve Imo

Said before, everyone calling for Ricky but he's short of game time and match fitness...be careful what you wish for

Great goal.

From the tippy tappy @Chrysalis;)

Forest are playing counter, so I assume Cooper decided this is the right game to adopt it.  This is assuming Top hasnt jumped in like how he has done with previous managers.

Two evenly matched teams, both trying to free up the wingers, forest through quick and pacy counters, and us with a Maresca-lite approach. Miss Vesty when we are playing like this - Okoli been robust but is limited with the ball at feet.

If we stick with it, I think we’ll grow into it even more in the second half.

dare I say it, Ricardo looking a bit rusty. I wonder if skipp can fulfill the inverted fullback roll, especially if we continue having more of the ball.

If we don’t mind riding the bumps with Ricky whilst he gets up to speed, then fine, he would be an asset, but we have to live with them and the cost it entails.
