Moyes and Potter are both unemployed at the moment as well.

It may come to a point where they don't really have a choice.

I'd rather Moyes over Potter now to be completely honest.

I thought Moyes is just waiting for Clarke to get sacked as Scotland manager?Nice little wind down job then retirement

this is basically it. Moyes is semi retired, will likely only take one job and that's the Scotland one once the SFA gets a president that Clarke can't bore to death

We could just continue to rot away for a couple years, then get Jose Mourinho.

I’ve seen he’s said the other day, when he finishes at Fenerbace, he’d want to manage a lower in the league Prem side.

Might be of interest if we get relegated.  Then regardless if he gets promotion or not it will have gone "Titz up!".

We won’t be in the prem if we don’t act now

Ten Hag would be welcome here, but he'll head back abroad. Despite the league position his time at United hasnt been bad, one league cup and fa cup in recent times is decent for United.

No thank you, wouldn't have him here at all. He wouldn’t come here anyway. Next you'll be telling us Zidane will be welcome here yes of course he would but will never ever come here.

As manager of the opposition absolutely.

In any other capacity, fook reet off!

This. I suspect he'd be on the Cooper level at Leicester. Not that we're spoiled for choice but can anyone see 10 Hag motivating our squad? I can't.

The BBC would change his name surname to avoid offending the basket weavers.

Wonder if we'd consider Carlos Corberan again?

I doubt he’ll ever get a team promoted from Championship.

For that reason he is a worry.

He’s a top 6 finisher but to cut it you need to be getting promotion in my view

I still think the board will keep Cooper in whilst we are averaging above a point a game.

We have all seen that snails move quicker than they act.

If he goes, it’ll largely depend on when that is.

Pre January and out of the relegation zone, you have a better chance of appointing someone that isn’t going to be a fire fighter.

I think we’ll also only go with someone that has experience of the Premier League as well.

So that narrows our search down massively and excludes the likes of Conceicao, Favre, Rutten, Fischer, Mazzarri, Schmidt, Van Bommel, Kucher, Hjulmand, Jardim, Garcia, Sampolli and Terzic.

I don’t think half of them would come here by the way either.

I also don’t think they’d consider Cocu, as whilst he managed Derby, it wasn’t in the Premier League.

I also think De Boer won’t ever get another gig in the EPL after his disaster at Palace.

Southgate, Zidane, Xavi, Ten Haag, Allegri etc would laugh if we approached them as they’d want a higher profile role.

——————————

So that leaves you with the following we’d maybe consider and it’s not exactly attractive viewing.

Lampard - Did well at Derby and his first spell at Chelsea. Disaster at Everton and 2nd spell at Chelsea.

Potter - His points per game is actually

distinctly average and worse than Cooper. His teams struggle to score goals plus how many times have we done this dance with him.

Moyes - Pragmatic and gets the job done type coach. Loved at Everton, Preston. Harshly cut at Manchester United maybe. Disaster at Sunderland but got West Ham playing. He’s realistically who I think we’d turn to first.

Sarri - Only Premier League experience with the Premier League is Chelsea. Not convinced he’d entertain us, most Chelsea fans hated Sarri-ball, however it’s pragmatic and effective. He’d challenge the board and it would all end up a bit of a mess long term so thinks

Sanchez Flores - Journeyman Manager who’s had two spells with the basket case that is Watford amongst a gazzilion other clubs.

Klinsmann - spent more time as an international coach than a club coach. Did okay at Bayern (who doesn’t). The brief spell at Berlin left a lot to be desired.

Benetiz - Journey manager at this stage, however strip the Everton debacle from his British CV and he’s done fairly well. The disaster at Celts Vigo can’t be ignored either that was after that.

Allardyce - Says he’s retired but depending on when we pull the trigger (if we actually do) on Cooper, you could see us throwing money at Sam To try and keep us up.

£600M spent on his own players and they’re worse than when he took over.

The FA Cup win was, like ours, an against-the-odds miracle and quite clearly stopped Ineos sacking him then. They’d seen enough and let emotions get in the way of acting prudently
