How many points do you think will be required to survive this season and how many will we actually get?

Honestly, think it'll be a record low to survive (it's currently 34 by WBA in 04/05, which isn't too much off the average), possibly as low as high 20s.

As such I think we'll survive with a low to mid 30s total, having never played particularly well.

It will really depend on how well/if clubs change managers.

Doesn't matter if bottom two get 13 each. It's what 18th get.

I'd expect wolves and palace and everton to get the usual 36/37 or so

Wolves accrued 2 points after 9 games, no way do they get that many

you could have stayed up with 27 points last season, I imagine it will be around the same this time round

Seriously?

At their current rate they'll be lucky to get double figures.

Part of the reason I'm starting to think Cooper will keep us up is because I don't think the tally will be all that high and whilst we're not currently on course to get a shitload on the board, some other clubs look like they'll genuinely struggle to get beyond the mid 20's.  Our fixtures are quite nicely spaced in terms of the caliber of opponents so we should never be looking at too much of an uphill task.  I'd still fancy us for results against all the teams below us whilst picking up more unexpected odd ones here and there, so I think a point a match could well happen.  Over 30 will probably be enough.

Any deductions in the offing for anyone else this season?

Think we will quite easily survive but it's just the lack of identity and plan that's worrying. You'd hope by now we'd have some kind of vision of where we are going and we don't.

I'm actually far less worried about survival this season than I am for the following seasons.

People will say it's about just staying up and then go from there, but we won't sack Cooper in the summer if we stay up. The plan should be to have a vision for what we need next season and put ourselves back in with a chance of being back where we were. It's doable, but under this regime it just feels like we are going to stay up and be fighting relegation again and again until we go back down.

I think that depends on the manner in which we stay up tbh. If we're comfortable and safe with a handful of games to go, I think they'll go again.  If we survived by a point or GD, then perhaps not.  Of course that also depends how many points that is I suppose.  If we survived with the lowest recorded total to stay in the division, again, he might be moved on.  He's only on a contract to 2027 so he'd only have 2 years to pay off.
