Is anyone else hearing Abdul has done his ACL?

Had a text this morning from a mate who normally knows this stuff but life has taught me to always dig deeper for, or until, confirmation has been made.

Anyone?

Ayew and Fatawu both apparently injured vs Angola. Due for scans back at Leicester.

Article (Ghanaian football one) mentions Ayew a knee injury. Not specific on Fatawu.

I would say doubt it as most acls swell up so much internally you will not bend knee so easily and in the photo he was in a brace but had full flexion and bent knee .. unless its a partial tear but requires full reconstruction as wont repair itself.

True but the partial tear would indicate that it can heal itself (it's normally when it's fully detached that it cannot heal).

Regardless, you'd imagine it's not quite as serious but could range anywhere from precautionary to several months out

Doesn't look that bad.

Grade 3 is 99.9% full reconstruction and lets be honest thats a full year and then 6 months of other niggles.

and in that case we wont see him back to his best until championship 25/26🤣

Will be very surprised if he starts on Saturday.

Risking a player with even a niggle somewhere can potentially make the problem worse in the longer-term.

See what Cooper says on Thursday.

You have to say, with the squad we have and the the way the season has gone so far, if either of them is missing more than or not available to select for more than one game, that is a disaster for us.

That squad can't afford to have the option to not start Abdul and not be able to bring on Ayew in any game as a minimum.

Was never going to be Andre Ayew, Kudus, Semenyo or even bless him Daniel Amartey........

Small mercy for Ghana not making the Afcon finals

Fingers crossed, its all better than we think
