Mickyblueeyes Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 Isn’t Andy Hughes the set piece coach. After yesterday he should’ve gone too! 2

He brought nothing positive. A disastrous appointment - which thankfully the club have had the guts to acknowledge. Because he took on a bad job, probably couldn’t recruit the players he wanted because we were a dead cert for relegation before we didn’t get a points deduction. The squad that we have isn’t as good as some of us believe. 4
Le Renard Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 He was always the bargain basement choice. As soon as the club turned PSR on its head, he was going to be served his P45; it was only a matter of time. They knew he wasn't cutting the mustard, but it was just about being seen to give Cooper a chance!
Uncle Monty Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 Tater Peeler aside, Cooper has to be one of the worst appointments. Seems a nice enough guy but he was cursed from the start. I wanted him to succeed but with the Forest background was always going to be a hard sell. Then the preseason games came. I know preseason generally mean FA but we were so shit. Then the signings. Then the complete shit performances even though we got a couple of wins potentially in spite of his management. His appointment really brought about apathy to the fans like I've never seen before. So many people disenchanted with everything including myself. Really hope the next appointment works out. 1

Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 That’s a great decision, need the next manager to be the right one. I really didn’t think they’d sack him for another few weeks.
OntarioFox Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 (edited) You can't have Forest down here taking the piss and saying he hates Leicester one week, then the team that poached a tactically superior manager off us doing the same next time out, while wheeling out our player of the season like a caged animal to remind us how far we've fallen in a matter of months. He was already on thin ice with the fanbase but that was the breaking point. Terminal optics. Just hope they have an idea of who they want, because I don't trust the board to do anything right. We all know it was a panic 'steady the ship' signing with the threat of PSR looming, but if anything that just shows the lack of imagination or ambition if they really believed we were going to have a 6-10 point handicap. We needed to be brave in games in the circumstances, and we went for someone who has tied us in a strait jacket instead. That financial excuse is now gone for this season at least. And the board now have no excuses. There are good managers available if they have the ambition - Potter, Moyes, a punt on RVN, hell there's even a certain someone in Turkey right now with itchy feet if they really want to try their luck. The question is - would any of them come to our basket case of a club right now? A make or break week or two coming up for us. So you just know we sign Mark Robins and we're sat bottom while watching us get dunked out the FA Cup by Cov in January. Edited 24 November 2024 by OntarioFox 3

Dahnsouff Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 He would not have been here without the looming points deduction. We escaped that, so it’s right he goes, and we aim for a more long term appointment. He chatted shit and got banged it seems. 4

I am no cooper fan and happy he has gone the football was turgid but don’t get the “forest background” as a problem. Did you hate seeing Wes lift the Premier League trophy in a Leicester shirt? BluethroughtheMiddle Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 (edited) In honesty, I genuinely thought he might work out for us,and was really hoping to see the development as he settled in. Clearly it wasnt working and Im glad that we havent let this drag on and have made the decision early. I just hope we have a next level manager lined up already. Bilo Posted 24 November 2024 Posted 24 November 2024 I think it's looking more and more likely that it'll be a Puel-Rodgers style transition than the absolute shitshow when Rodgers got sacked and we had Sadler-Stowell in the dugout before appointing Dean Smith. Perhaps the board have learned something from that experience.
