I hope today there is concrete movement and developments in one direction

Are you referring to a recently departed pop star?

RVN has a Frank McLintock feel about it, to me. Both great players, but the novelty of that will wear off very quickly for our squad once the absence of tactical know-how becomes apparent, as I fear it will.

Absolute madness if we end up with RVN, might as well sign Frank Lampard then.

Not saying he’s the answer but RVN’s not got the failure record or the dour demeanour of Lamps tbf.

If RVN hadn’t been a famous player and was being judged solely on his managerial/coaching experience, would he even be in the conversation? I know we took a punt on Enzo, but would we usually take a risk on such an inexperienced manager in the situation we’re currently in? It seems unlikely. Choosing a manager because of their fame as a player makes me uneasy…

Yeah this is my concern. It’s the name we are going for, not the actual coach. Not taking away his work at PSV but he hasn’t done enough to get a premier league job. I mean he applied for the cov job …

Whoever it is I just hope it’s not another disappointing underwhelming knee jerk appointment from the club AGAIN, I’d rather we take a bit more time to do some due diligence get the right manager in and not after a month or so regret the decision.

Get the experience of the senior players such as Vardy & Coady to help with a bit more input with tactics team selections etc with the coaches  who have stepped in at the helm and really make sure we don’t make Another mistake getting the wrong Manager in.

I get your point, and agree on your first point. But if Top had a good DoF he wouldn't need to consult players and I don't think that is the way forward. A strong, competent DoF would be able to recognise all this without the need to consult players on appointments. It shows a failure on Rudders....again!

The RVN worries me but not in the same way cooper did.

I think RVN will have a set plan and his reputation as a player might go a little way in the short term. Players are more like to listen to a former Real Madrid and Man U league winner than Cooper(no saying that’s right by the way)

But I’m just not sure if hes the right guy for the job.

That said, it does have a little more excitement than other appointments. His backroom staff would be key.

I still think they’ll be another name come out today that’s not been mentioned yet.

I wonder if this is the case, it’s happened in the past.

Puel was way down the list of favourites at one point.

RVN feels wrong to me. I completely understand the reaction to Moyes being short term and being in this situation again in 12 months, but surely we can't gamble on our survival in the league?? We might well not find getting out of the Championship that easy again. That league is full of clubs that have been in the Premiership and probably expected to get promoted back and haven't. This could so easily be us with the wrong appointment.

Get Rob Page in!

Also, have frankly no idea who would do a good job for us in the short and mid term.

Glancing at the list of available managers, the standout for me is Maurizio Sarri. Not sure he's a realistic choice. Get on it, Claudio! One last favour...

Why did RVN leave PSV

Can't see him taking the job for the same reasons.

Apparently he was so desperate for the Leicester job, that he left PSV so there wouldn’t be any hurdles for his eventual approach.

Was just reading about his tactics and formations set up at PSV and thought he’d actually quite suit our available playing squad!

PSV don’t directly pressure the opponent or the ball as they will look to control the space the opposition can play towards.

The team sit in a medium block and looks to protect the centre of the pitch, with any direct pressing on the ball set by a trigger.

Just kill me now.

Slept with the owners daughter in his house as he was the neighbour. They caught them kissing on the sofa, even caught them on camera. Ruud said, "It wasn't me"
