We took a similar risk with Enzo and he served us well making us top of championship. 

I have a good feeling Ruud will bring out the qualities and fight this squad need.

I'm excited about him. Like any manager, he comes with risks, but I'm pretty sure the players will respect and listen to him. If he can bring back some togetherness and unity around the club again we'll be in a far better position than we were under Cooper

Ruuds career so far is taking the best team in Holland and finishing 2nd. Then beating Steve Coopers Leicester twice and PAOK with Man Utd.

 

If it was an unknown name people would be baffled beyond belief. But because he bagged a load of goals people are all jazzed up.

Whilst I can see why some fans take this view, there surely has to be the possibility that vastly talented coaches/managers at the start of their career have something about them that convinces clubs to take the high risk high reward chance.

 

It was as clear as day after just a year or so of Arne Slot at AZ Alkmaar how good he was going to be (I called it) and likewise Xabi Alonso (I called it) from the glowing praise he got by all and sundry when he started out at Sociedad's B team.

 

Whilst for every Slot and Alonso there's a Gerrard and Lampard, there's also clubs like us giving perceived proven managers a go who've an armpit full of failures and seemingly so stubborn to utilise the exact same methods that got them the sack previously too.

 

It's a risk but I prefer these types (Enzo) than going for someone like Moyes or dare I say it even Potter who I can't bare.

From a neutrals point of view its a great appointment. 

 

He has an aura about him that should translate on the pitch and also get the fans onside. 

 

Exciting times ahead for you all. 

 

I'd imagine he's been promised some funds in Jan / summer.

big gamble, big risk, not who i would have chosen but anything's better than that Welsh git

 

but lets get behind him and see what's he made of, hopefully he will get a chance in January to sign a few decent players, im sure that would of been part of the deal
