He has worked as assistant at international level too, worked with Koeman and Hiddink, worked at youth levels and has experience, albeit 1 season as a head coach at senior level. Apparently has spent time studying with Real and in South America too.

He's not an experienced coach by any means at senior level, but neither was Arteta or Maresca, or even Pep.

Not sure what to think about this to be honest he's quite inexperienced and man u still looked shocking in the 2 games they played against us we were just worse however he is young and ambitious and hopefully the players will respect him because of his playing career.

Wouldn't have been my choice but I'm willing to back him, feels more positive than when Cooper was appointed

Laurent Blanc is probably the best.

Lots of failures for sure, but Laurent Blanc, Michael Carrick and Mark Robins have done OK.

Obviously a bygone era and they're laughing stocks now, but Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce both spent about 15 years managing at various teams in the top flight.

Remember when Brighton sacked Chris Hughton, who'd got them promoted and kept them in the Premier League for two seasons? The backlash to that was pretty big. They replaced him with Potter who had previously managed in Sweden and had just finished 10th in the championship with Swansea. That decision in time transformed the club, through granted it took a while. They then appointed De Zerbi who had predominantly managed bottom half or mid-table clubs in Serie A and now have a manager who is literally 31 years-old. Every appointment they've made has been a gamble and they haven't looked back. Had they listened to so called experts and continued plodding along with Hughton, they certainly wouldn't have played in Europe and be finishing well in the top half of the premier league.

Bournemouth had the same with O'Neil to Iraola

Southampton sacking Nigel Atkins for Potch is another great example. Atkins had achieved back-to-back promotions with them and had them outside of the PL relegation zone. He was replaced by a manager who couldn't even speak English at the time and it proved to be an inspired decision!

There was not much evidence then that Brighton were as competent as LCFC were at the time with how we were viewed.

We've got to restart again somewhere.

We weren't doing anything at all under Cooper.

Neil Warnock would have been an upgrade.

You'd have to go back to the dark pre-League One days to fine a more lost looking Leicester than Cooper's.

You'd have to look at the year we went down to League 1, we were changing managers every 5 minutes the players had no idea what they were meant to be doing!

So, how are ethe media team going to announce this one. Coopers announcement seemed like a rushed job by an apprentice that was leaving in a few hours.

I think the club will make big song and dance on this one as it's Tops pick.

#Ruuuuuuddddddd (seeing I'm getting there with enthusiasm)

9 years to the day that Vardy took the record from him. It won’t but should be incorporated

It’s a gamble, no doubt about it but then 99% of managers would be a gamble also.

I don’t know a lot about him as a manager as I don’t really follow football from abroad, my overriding emotion is ‘it can’t be any worse can it?!’

I hope he brings a decent set off staff with him that are sturdy pillars to prop him up.

I feel genuine excitement for Saturday now which I haven’t felt for a long time, so that’s the major positive I’ll take out of this as a minimum.

All fair points but the difference is that their managerial choices were then backed up by a consistent and well-thought through transfer policy and approach.

We’re increasingly scattergun in recruitment these days and so bringing in an inexperienced manager is a risk.
