Unsurprising. My frustration at the total lethargy of our club is mixed with relief that reports of Russell Martin's imminent appointment were exaggerated.

They just want him to walk so they won’t have to pay him. Good for him staying put.

Or they may be waiting until 1st June and possibly lower payout?

Hopefully it's because we still haven't found our new DOF. This would be the only acceptable reason for this newest clown show.

Good to see that relegation is being taken seriously again.

This should be humiliating for them. I've seen so many part time clubs making announcements and doing business (when they have other jobs to deal with), yet a professional club hasn't sat down to discuss their intentions for the next season with the manager lol

I genuinely loathe the people running this club, I'm a petty man, but I'd genuinely be happy to see the club keep sliding while they're in control. I want everyone under absolutely no doubt that these lot are a clown show and have no business running a football club.

They're absolutely taking the piss out of him. You know as bad as he's been, and he has been appallingly bad, I do wonder if he's had wind of them taking the piss from day one, right to the whole nonsense about his backroom staff and he's very much been doing it back.

What a terrible way to operate. Even Southampton, as embarrassing as they are look like they're getting their act together a bit with an exciting new manager appointed. Meanwhile we can't even tell the bloke what's going on. What the **** are they doing?

Relegation was confirmed nearly six weeks ago and had been a foregone conclusion for a long time before that. How can they not have discussed the manager's future with him? I think we are all well used to the club doing the absolute bare minimum in basically every department but even by their own low standards this is an exceptional bit of work.

If 1st June is a financial date then I can why we might wait until then. You'd expect some sort of message of support if they were giving Ruud a chance.

Saying that, the people at the top probably haven't even realised the season has finished.

There’s a column in the daily mirror today about similarities that Ruud could quit here like he did at PSV.
Then the mercury has basically copied the same column and slightly changed the wording of it.

Great journalistic insight from the local paper…..

I wish they’d just get rid of him.
Ruud clearly doesn’t want to be here.

He's not going to quit, if he even had an incline of quitting that's now gone with the club ignoring him this way.

If I was him I would hold out for every penny he can screw the club for because Rudkin and Top are a disgrace.

We'll probably keep him because we can't be a****d on compensation (or dialogue). Which does no good at all. As he isn't backed with signings nor do we move forward with an alternate approach

Bloke went head to head with peak Alex Ferguson to get his own way at United

Somehow think dealing with the Polo playing twat and Rudkin isn’t as difficult

Presumably they're working on getting someone else lined up but don't want to sack him first in case they have their sights on someone who then doesn't come and we're Ruuderless.

It is weird, has there ever been a situation like it?

If it's financial, surely the club can say to him, " thank you for your service, but we are going to let you go, but we can't pay your remuneration until this point when it will be official, but you're welcome to speak to other clubs".

They cant because there is a contract.

I doubt Ruud is in high demand right now, but if he speaks to any club there would be have to be talk of paying the settlement figure to break the contract.

It's obvious Top is too busy playing with his teddy's, as soon as he asked anything or needs to make a decision he is out of his depth.

Shame he just doesn't have the self respect to quit really. He doesn't need the couple of million he's holding out for and his managerial reputation will never recover from this whether he stays or not.

Perhaps he is a man of principle.....doesn't like being lied to?

PSR or not it’s pathetic grown men can’t come to some adult agreement on his leaving.

I could see top saying"just sign this NDA and well give you a few quid to go"......but as some one else said he doesn't need the money and could blow the whole lid off the club, while keeping his management cred? And i hope he does!
