I’m by no means a fan of him but don’t get so many comments saying to drag Soumare? Is it just cause it’s the easy name to suggest?

He’s been much better than Wilf. If any of the 2 need replaced it definitely isn’t him.

I think it’s because he allows the opposition to drift past him every time. N’Didi the same. Both far too passive.

I think N’Didi hesitates to committing himself as Soumare offers very little backup should the ball break from a challenge.

Both look scared to engage early or commit to a loose ball.

Skipp on for either.

Need to restrict their playmakers from midfield.

Kudus and Bowen the obvious ones but even Wan-Bissaka and Soucek are getting forward with ease and time on the ball.

Try and cut out the supply and it'll feel more comfortable instead of feeling like the momentum is always building against.

And when we do get the ball have a bit more composure and calmness. It still feels a bit uneasy.

We've been better in the transition, but that's about it. Look a threat though which is more than normal. Lack of quality though in those situations other than the goal.

McAteer has put some decent balls into the box but he's only a threat if he has space to run in to, Bilal as worked hard but feel we need one of the wings to be a direct threat one v one. Buonnatte disappointing so far, tries to be too clever at times.

Defensively though you feel a West Ham goal is inevitable.

I'm not really sure what people expected? We have a pretty poor team that's been coached by an absolute team of twats since the summer and they're bereft of any confidence. We've got a new manager in who they clearly all massively respect and they're all running harder and further than before. He's had 2 coaching sessions with them and we've scored a lovely goal. Yes, we're fortunate that West Ham haven't been even vaguely clinical, but we're winning at half time against a decent team full of players that would walk into our team. Let's all relax a little and hope that we can bring in some improvements in January

Again, being one of our best players isn't hard when we have barely left our own box all game. He's running about a bit sure, but he's not up to the pace of the game yet. He had a moment in the 47th where he tracked back to help Kristiansen and put a good slide in, we got the ball out and he started to jog forward as you do, kristiansen got himself out of position and bilal watched 2 west ham players just drift past him and made no effort to track back again.

Being one of the better players on the pitch when we've played awful doesn't mean he's playing good enough.

Weird to pick out one of our better players though isn't it, there's a lot worse on display to worry and moan about

Ignoring all the good things Bilal has done then, made a few good tackles, great pass for the goal, can seemingly not dither on the ball as well

I haven't ignored the good things he has done. He's been okay in a really poor performance overall, but he's been sluggish on multiple occasions.

This makes no sense, so you have a pop at one the better players on the pitch as opposed to the worst?

What are you watching?? It’s no better West Ham have not took there chances and hams is single handed keeping us in the game!! We have 8 championship players who are nowhere near good enough no matter who the manger

Who are the other 3 that are good enough? Because I'd argue Mads, Vardy, Bilal and Buonanotte are good enough. Splitting hairs I know but credit where it's due.

Mate, you can F off with comments like this. There is a player in there who needs support, direction and management. Not his own fans saying shite like that.

Do you think he is reading the thread at half time

Can he change the players we have available right now?

There's a clear idea of play in possession, this is a marked improvement

Of course there's work to be done out of possession, that's football when you're not at the very top of any given league. To say 8/11 are nowhere near good enough is a stretch when they've been under new management for 2 days, give them a chance with a coach who actually has some semblance of an idea of what he wants.

I picked him out in that moment because he made a really poor sluggish pass, then followed it up with a really clumsy foul, a few minutes later let 2 players drift past him like he wasn't even there.
Plenty of players to moan about, sure, I just mentioned him. I don't see the point in "rounding up" a players performance because they are the best of a bad bunch.

Ndidi off for Skipp. Soumare hasn’t been great but definitely the better of the two

I'd never thought I'd say this looking at the team sheet before KO, but...

I agree

Have to remember they've had 2 days of Ruud, coming off the back of a shambles against brentford. Confidence will be low, it's small steps, never going to be giant leaps trying to undo the damage of the last 3 months.

The structures and style is much improved, we are still a bit chaotic defensively but that's just down to the quality of player, it won't change but at least we are offering something.

Ndidi and soumare playing in a pivot when you are trying to play possession football is not great and mcateer needs to bulk up.

Kudus, Bowen and Soler are top players should be playing at higher up the league.

A big problem for the first half hour at least was Wilf and Soumare both ball watch, they've got no real idea where the opponents are and don't cover the right spaces. They've got better in that regard as the half wore on, but neither of them offer for a pass when we're in possession. JJ has their best presser on him and no options. And he doesn't need that added pressure. I'd be thinking Soumare for Skipp cos Bouba is on a yellow and I'd imagine Skipp shows for the ball more.

Positives. Vesty. Best defender and oddly one of our best attackers. Because he's literally having to bypass the mids when playing out.

Bilal. Just looks like he's comfortable at the level, and he's doing a bit of everything.

Kasey off for Mav at some point, shift the players how @moore_94 said and like I day Skipp for Bouba so we don't risk a red.

Didn't have to be immediately, see how we start the half.

Our biggest problem is buonanotte, he’s killed our attacks constantly. I’m hoping he his half won’t be anywhere near as bad as that half was.
