They’re a hot and cold team. They’re always dangerous but their last two results were a draw v Soton where saints should’ve won, and last night. On the other hand they’ve only last three games all season, two before last night against Chelsea and Liverpool. So no pushovers.

This will all depend on what defence can hold out. Both teams can score but both are gash at the back so hopefully Ruud having a wee bit more time has patched that up a little.

Brighton will certainly get chances and take them more often than West Ham. The defence are going to get a battering if we have the Soumare and Ndidi as the midfield destroyers. 
 

Hamza is a bomb scare but he will at least press and tackle, unlike Soumare who watches players run by allows them to take a cross or shot before he reacts. Just have to keep Hamza away from the penalty area.

Soumare was one of our better players Tuesday night.  Ruud said in his post match presser both him and Ndidi were outstanding....don't understand the hate...give him a chance.

Ruud and Co have had best part of a week together so expect tweaks to be made to the tactics and lines up. 

 

Brighton didn't look that great last night so it could be closer than it would've been tbf. 

 

We'll need to be the 12th man come Sunday.

We will certainly have a better impression of Ruud after a week, after a wonderful impression after 36 hours.

 

I definitely have hope, if not confidence.

When was the last time you watched Soumare play? He's been one of our better players lately.

Victory on debut, but not perfect performance?

“Clear. Straight away after the game I mentioned that. The result is one, three great goals is two, very effective is three, but we all saw how the game went. The number of attempts stood out for West Ham. We have to analyse and be in a better shape and keep players out of the box. That’s been the work this week.”
 

Forgiven Vardy for breaking your record now?

“I said he has to break the record again, then I’ll be able to forgive him!”
 

You retired at 35, Vardy turns 38 in Jan?

“I was just turning 36 in July 2012 when I played my last game. It’s a process that’s slow from the start to the end of your career, when you’re constantly evolving. You don’t have to one day think about it, it goes through the years. Jamie is adapting with the game intelligence he has and knowing where he needs to be. You saw it with the timing of his run. He won’t lose that, he won’t ever lose that.”
 

Showed fight?

“That was the aspect of the performance that I was most happy with. You saw desire in every player, how much they fought for each other. The subs had a great impact. That’s our foundation. I started with some little changes before the game that were picked up quite well. We’ve worked more on them this week. On top of the foundations, you start to build a vision for the club.”

“It’s about preparing and performing. We know the programme but to be at our best, we just need to think about Sunday. We play some big teams in the short term. But we’ll focus on each game at a time.”
 

What does Daka bring?

“Exactly what he showed. You saw his quality. Two, actually. Pressing off the ball with intensity and that makes it easier for people behind him to follow up and get into duels. But also in the goal he scored, with the pace has. He can time runs behind defences and hurts them.”
 

Need the squad?

“I mentioned that in the team meeting today, that the Premier League is so tough that we need all of the players involved and ready to help. The mindset is there, with the busy schedule as well. Everybody is ready to help the team, starting or as a substitute.”
 

Able to do transfer business?

“We had a conversation about that in London before I signed. We spoke about that, the winter window, and also towards the summer. We also said that there’s no rush to do things. The squad there is now is getting opportunities to prove themselves over this month. There’s time after that to make a good assessment, when I’ve seen the players with my own eyes.”
 

Will there be funds there?

“Yes.”
 

Any fresh injuries?

“No. The squad from Tuesday was available today to train. There’s tomorrow’s session. Odsonne is back on the pitch, so that’s an addition to Tuesday’s squad. Harry was outside with the physios, training separately.”
 

How to fix West Ham chances?

“There’s attempts and there’s chances. Thank God there weren’t 30 chances. Some of the attempts weren’t chances. The expected goals was three for West Ham and we have to look at that. A blocked shot from a tight angle, we don’t have to look at that. We do better when we are in shape with a back four and two midfielders, a 4-4-2 formation. Sometimes we have to adjust with following the man.”

“Similar story with the squad and the January transfer window. I’m working with people here. There’s a possibility to bring people in. Jelle is here. But there won’t be massive changes. Maybe one or two people we can add to help. We can have a good group.”

“It’s vital to have people who know the club. The DNA, it’s important to have that for the heart of the club. We haven’t met yet. It reminds me of when I started, getting integrated in this world. I’m looking forward to chatting with him, help him wherever I can, and learn from him about Leicester City.”

“I heard somebody in the hallway and he announced himself from far away! When he got into the office, I was aware the moment I met him. He has pure passion for this football club.”
 

Advantage with Brighton playing last night?

“Theoretically there is a physical advantage. But Brighton have a wide squad and have the possibility to rest players and keep their quality. But we do have a slight physical advantage.”
 

Momentum?

“Getting results is the main thing. What does Sunday need for us to win? It starts with the performance of Tuesday again, investing in that fight and spirit, and from there looking to improve certain bits. That’s my goal. That gives you the best chance of a result.”
