I think McAteer keeps his place for this, with Buonnatte in for Ayew. Possibly play McAteer as part of a midfield 3 rather than one the wing.

I'd be tempted to start with Daka as well for the extra bit of pace but Vardy is hard to ignore after his last 2 performances.

I'd be surprised if its not Skipp and Hamza.

I don't give us much of a chance of getting anything out of this one. If Soumare and Ndidi were fit, I might. That feels really weird to say.

Rvn has transformed wilf, maybe can get hamza to do a job.

I don't have any concern about defending with them two I think they are great fighters in the middle but very little progression from hamza and skipp can be inconsistent in possession.

Looking forward to this one

With the players we've got out there's absolutely no place for ineffectual players like Mcateer, he's an absolute waste of a space.

Went to the cinema instead of watching that game as I knew 100% that we'd get absolutely battered.

Couldn't believe it when I turned my phone on and saw we'd won 0-0.

Did you leave before the end?

as a counter, with the specific players missing I'd venture there's possibly room for honest graft, however... limited they might be at the sharp end

Just because he's keen and runs about a lot doesn't necessarily equate to purposeful graft, in fact it's pointless and deceptive.

Any move he actually gets involved with invariably breaks down. He can't go past his man, he usually slows or stops the move to play the ball backwards or he loses it. He's very easily knocked off the ball too and offers very little defensively.

I actually agree with most of that however he is a young local lad living his dream and doing his very best for the team he loves - I won’t criticise him to much because of that but yes he is not good enough for this level - I’m happy to go with Ruud though - 2 games and 2 starts and 2 wins - trust the gaffer

All fair points.

no axe to grind as I agree he's a limited player, be interesting to see if RVN picks him after 2 lacklustre personal performances.

I suspect Kasey might be more toward the opposite of what has been suggested of some players that are talented but dim. someone that is limited yes, but able to follow the 'plan' - like KDH, but clearly he has more ability but you get what I mean, more than the sum of the parts

...talking of nothing I particularly, ifonly that Castagne last minute effort went in! (Which it would've done 7/10 times) Sliding door moment

Glad it didn’t. if it had, we’d have kept dean smith and a lot of the other mercenaries we’d gathered. we wouldn’t have learnt anything or even tried to look into how to fix things. it would have let certain people off of the hook and we would have just been relegated the next season ( especially with the points deduction) in what would likely have been a far worse situation.

Hindsight is 20-20 but the best outcome was to go down, flush out as much muck as possible, reset and get promoted again in a better place and personally, I think we are. we have a platform to build on once again and hopefully we get the next month right and we will be ready to go again!

I’d have been happy with keen and runs about a lot three weeks ago, when nobody ran or looked very keen!

If we can get anything out of this match it will be a huge result, at a crucial time, it is doable, be great for RVN the Team and supporters, the next 3 fixtures after Wolves will be hard:

Newcastle - Draw be nice, Win excellent.

Wolves - Win excellent, draw would be ok.

Liverpool - Loss

Man City - Loss

Villa - Draw / Loss

Love this comment. So annoying that the run of academy products in the match day squad was ended under Cooper. Not saying it should be mandated but we have 9 subs now so we should be looking to have an academy product involved in every match day squad.

Same and just the general positive response to it as well, no bemoaning injuries/suspensions but talking up our young players.

Genuinely feel like we're in good hands with Ruud

You make a fair point. They must have all been so dispirited though because the sudden change under RVN is palpable!

Our record up there has been fairly decent recently hasn't it?

Just gone though league games since our promotion in 14/15. Played 8, w 5, d 1, l 2 (one of those was a Rodgers masterclass)
