Binned cooper at the right time....gives rvn time to assess players before jan window...the calibre and connections rvn gas to other clubs could mean better players signing and hopefully he'll offload the deadwood.

Buonanotte, El Khannous and Vardy being 3 players that can be game-changers/winners is one reason. If Fatawu comes back into the fray by the end of the season then that's another.

There are worse teams in the league. No one gets relegated in December but Southampton are pretty much done and dusted. It's be a better great escape than ours if they survive from 5 points now. They'll need about 28-30 points to survive from now. That's a hell of a lot for a team that only has 5 from an available 45 so far.

I've got strong faith that a) we're better guided under Van Nistelrooy. I think it goes beyond a new manager bounce that he has us playing well almost instantly and we get rid of overly cautious Cooper tactics. RVN has a philosophy or identity or whatever you want to call it. And b) I have faith also that he has a better transfer strategy than Cooper. He may still have to make do with the likes of Ayew and Reid and Faes for now, but buying/loaning a few more players to suit his tactics and game will do us well.

I know there's still Sunday to come before a tough set of fixtures, but I've got confidence now we can beat teams around us which is the main thing. Getting any point or 3 against the current  top 7/8 is a bonus. The only thing against this is our away fixtures on 2nd half of the season are tough - Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City, Brighton, Forest...

1 We sign a class right back in January.

2 We avoid any further injuries, and Mads/Winks/N'Didi and even Soumare are available for the rest of the season. Hang on though, are we about to lose Daka/NDidi/Soumare with that tournament thing.....?

3 RvN will have seen where we are weak, and hopefully can address issues.

One more thing. Some posters keep trumpeting our promising young players like Alves, Golding and Cartwright... maybe they can make a difference?

It doesn't change the fact we are one of favourites to go down. RvN will certainly earn his money if he keeps us up.

We haven't looked great all season but have had an ability to keep the points total ticking over. Have managed to avoid being in the relegation zone all season so far and we're nearly halfway through.

Just had our second blank of the season. We've been able to find goals. Suring up the defence would do wonders for our results.

You haven't got to be good to stay up. Just better than three. 9 wins will be about right and we've got 3 so far. Wolves H, Ipswich H, Southampton H, Palace H, Everton A, West Ham A, Wolves A all give good opportunities and so far we've done alright against our rivals.

Mads is the best keeper of all the teams in the bottom 7.

Vardy will always score goals if he’s given the chances.

Southampton, Wolves, Ipswich, Palace and Everton are all equally as crap as we are.

Yes but Everton drew with Arsenal and Southampton only lost 1-0 to Man City

Wolves will pull clear with a new manager

Ipswich play as a team and with cohesion and are getting wins

We have a manager with no experience and no track record and a team of players who are not good enough so it doesn’t bode well.

I am afraid we are going down.  We are too good for the championship not good enough for the premier league.  Too many non premier league standard players.

1.  Poor defenders for this level.

2.  players especially in defence totally out of position, Justin and Christiansen yesterday.

3.  No midfield.

Now Hermansen maybe injured I dread to think the scoreline when we play Liverpool boxing day.  Premier league record score will be broken that day 10 - 0 Liverpool.

Would your relative view of us and Ipswich have been the same after last weekend's results? "Getting wins" = beating a team in disarray to get their second win of the season.

You can cherry pick any results you like, we got a draw with Spurs - Everton lost 4-0. We beat Bournemouth, Southampton got pasted by them.
Wolves will pull clear in the same way everyone said we would pull clear in 2022/23?
Nothing is certain and I think you’re picking all the negatives to make a point that isn’t really there.

At the end of the day the bottom 6 are all in a fight, will all pick up shock wins and draws along the way, but ultimately non of us can say we are any better than the others for certain.

We say that after a game like yesterday but is it really true. We’ve pissed off a few of our rivals already this season. Last week v Brighton. saints away. Last min v Ipswich. West Ham game for 90 odd minutes. Bournemouth.

Games like yesterday are going to happen and we just can’t get past that. This season, we will collapse and very likely those collapses happen away from home. I keep going back to the 22/23 season, we had no luck and nor did we deserve any. That was a team without any fight or pride or determination. Miles better on paper than the one we have this season. If I’m being honest, what does give me hope is that this group have fought back a few occasions.

the King Power and games like wolves next week is where we have to keep pulling rabbits out the hat. Our home form is where we get our luck,

That there are hopefully 3 worse teams in the division.

Look what we've been reduced to.*

Circus.*

I’m struggling.
Imo we’re better than Southampton and Ipswich and after that I’m struggling.
Some of the other sides we might be equal with them but I couldn’t say we’re better.
We still can’t defend and I don’t see that changing with the current defender’s we have.

No we're not losing French midfielder Soumare to the next 2025/26 Afcon tournament

Need to seal up this defence. It’s hopeless as we’re rarely going to score 3 or 4 to win a game. So 1. New defender in January, 2. Keep Mads fit and 3. A shrewd signing who can get us a few key goals.

Posted

1. NUFC loan us Harvey Barnes to make room for their shock acquisition of Neymar.

2. Danny Ward is reassigned from first team duties to back-up Filbert Fox.

3. Jon Rudkin inherits a rubber plantation on Borneo and falls into a vat of molten latex.

Outside of those, not much comes to mind …

What if Manchester City are collapsing because they have had some extremely bad news...

Can you genuinely see them getting an automatic demotion or a massive points penalty?
