We didn’t press at 3-1 with 10 minutes left, we happily took a 3-1 as if a 0 points and a further -2 to our goal difference was somehow useful to our season. 🤷🏻‍♂️

More fight in the performance than I was expecting, but always only a matter of time before their class was going to tell.

I've accepted we're down, I don't see us getting 5-6 good players in, in January, to sufficiently strengthen us to give us even a fighting chance.

Result would have been nice but expected nothing, but we just made silly mistakes constantly, playing Ayew and taking so long to make positive changes, trying to play out from defence vs LIVERPOOL who are notorious for pressing, just silly decision after silly decision. We gave up at 1-0 up and thought we could defend for 85 mins.

Losing Fatawu was monumental. He is the only guy with pace in the wide areas.

Easy to forget Ricardo for his defending plus ability to turn in tight areas.

It's a honking injury list for a team near the bottom.

Scoreline certainly a lot better than expected, and I think 2-1 would’ve actually been the fairer result

Pretty decent Prem debut for Stolarczyk - hopefully that means the end of us having to see Ward again this season

Though yet again exposed that we desperately need a new right back and at least 1 new attacking player

Think we looked better at the back than last 2 games, which to be honest isn't saying much, but we couldn't get the ball out of our half.

Yes it was against a rampant Liverpool who've been turning over everyone (except Forest) but we need to be braver going forward.

I don't know why RVN can't play Buonanotte and El Khannouss at the same time?

How has Justin got so bad.

Criminal defending for the first letting him cut inside and shoot....it was so obvious Gakpo was going to do that and was probably being drilled into him all week.

We were flattered by 3-1. They probably played as poorly as all season and never got out of first gear. We need two new FBs, probably a solid CB, a decent creative midfielder and a proven striker at the very minimum.

Stolarczyk was the biggest positive. I thought Vestergaard and Coady were OK. Biggest issue to me was our central MF not being able to hold onto the ball and allow a little possession.  Just constant giveaways plus no real threat for a counter attack.  Daka sucks (nothing new there). The rest is just the talent gap between the clubs, which is ginormous.

Justin with his usual breakdown that results in a goal didn't help either.  Ayew takes a lot of crap on here, but  I thought he was solid tonight.  He at least wasn't coughing up the ball all night to the degree that several of his teammates were.

Thought we played alright given the opponent. We kept Salah and Nuñez quiet but Liverpool targeted our weak link in Justin.

Positives:

-We are much better on the ball with Winks back in the side.
-Mavididi was far more direct which was a good threat.

-Ayew and Bilal were solid.

-Jacub is 10x better than Ward.

-VK did well to keep Salah quiet for most the game.

Negatives:

-Soumare was really poor.

-Justin keeps getting targeted - we need to sign a new RB in Jan.

-Daka with his usual garbage finishing.

Overall I think it’s a step in the right direction, but the Wolves loss and the leaky defence has really put us in trouble in the table. Really hope we have a good window in January as I think that’s Ruud’s only hope.

Can't believe we're going to have to watch another 5 months of this shite, just relegate us already

We're not going to play Liverpool ever week, Patrick.

Did we make history by have zero shots in the second half? Don't remember a time that's happened before.

Think it may have happened a couple of times in the last relegation season. But I could be wrong. Just further proof this team isn't good enough for the league

Is there a worse centre forward in the league than daka ?

It's tricky. I think there is a decent player there but he needs a goal or two because he's not looking confident in front of goal right now. Should have done better with that one (and only) chance we had in the second half.

Not too disheartened by that. They aren’t actually a bad side. Although looking through the comments I think we’ve just lost to Yeovil Town lol and been relegated 3 divisions immediately. Here’s me thinking I’m one of the most negative people ever.

The minimum. The chances of getting this many players who will actually improve us is statistically close to zero. Sadly.
