I thought we did a lot more than huffing and puffing today. We grew into the game and made most of the running second half. We had quality today and we’re deserving of a point at least. As for quality, I’ve doubted too all season but this and the Anfield game has made me rethink, only Mavadidi and the two full backs lacked a bit today and for the first time this season we looked like a premier league outfit.

And from all of that we took nothing from a game against the team 17th in the form table. We're toast.

Oh cheer up for **** sake…

Why are people suggesting Man City are the pits? They’re still a quality side.

Were you there? They were absolutely rattled and there for the taking. Absolutely a missed opportunity today. Why are we giving so many free passes on losses?

I thought Mavididi played well today

I didn't...

Seemed scared to take his fullback on for the majority of the match.   Slowed a lot of the play down, and blunted promising attacks with inside passing when closing in on their 18yd box

So, we happy we're creating more agreed?

You cannot not be happy with that of course!

But, (Genuine question) how come we were scoring more, being more clinical when we created less? Realise i've answered my own question, it's as simple as we were more clinical, but why and when we're create more it doesn't take the clinical side away, or despite creating more are they not as good a chances as when we created less - I guess that's where xG come in for all I hate those kind of stats.

Either way, we're not scoring (many) anymore.

Vary one was tight but looked offside, don't think it was a pen either, barely any contact.

Not sure on Buonanotte

What? lol if he's not offside it's the most blatant penalty going.

The finishing is just natural variation, not something that's really controllable. There are very few players in the world who consistently score more than their xG.

Yes, and it wasn’t a free pass for **** sake. They weren’t rattled, they’re not at their best at the moment but they’re still a good team. We made a mistake for he first goal, and the second was just Haarland being Haarland. They’ve not lost to anyone in and around us, so this suggestion they’re easy pickings is silly. It certainly wasn’t a missed opportunity at all, on another day, a couple of those chances go in and it’s a different game. There’s plenty of positives to take from that performance today…..

One more thing I'll add and see if @StriderHiryu can build on it in his analysis if he hasnt done it yet?

When we're on the attack, we have no one attacking the back post especially on the right side. We seem to go central a hell of alot lot almost like little kids playing.

You see other teams Wingers or full backs holding the width then going, we don't have it.

Lot more hope after watching that. The defensive frailties remain, but we played some excellent stuff and on another day, that’s at least a point if not a win. Have to keep it up.

Good performance and created chances but didn’t finish them. That’s as simple as I can put it. Opportunity lost to beat a very poor form man city. Hard to batter Vards too much as I can see how vexxed he was at missing that.

End have their Etihad complex destroyed so they can't use it to bounce back.

salt that ground. But seriously, I cannot think of weirder behaviour than singing about Ranieri being sacked 8 years ago when he never managed them? even the Forest fans crying bloody murder about us sacking cooper are being more normal than man city (that was at least recent and he has a connection to them). It'd be like Man Utd rocking up and us singing about David Moyes.

We had so much space to attack down their left today. Justin covered so much ground but lacks any confidence on the ball. Such a shame we couldn't have had Fatawu available.

Some of the most electric, out of your seat moments last season were both Fatawu and Mavididi running at their opposition fullbacks, skinning them on both the inside and outside and terrifying them all game.

Mavididi seems to have lost this completely from his game and thinks that doing 4-5 ‘shimmies’ or step overs and completely slowing the game down will have the same impact. It’s so frustrating and I don’t know whether it’s confidence or lack of quality but RVN needs to insist that he takes on the FB on the outside or pull him out the team for everybody’s sake

I take your point, but the difference between taking on full backs in The Championship to doing it where where we are now is markedly different.

So it’s lack of quality then
