And the narrative from outside will be that we sacked Cooper outside of the relegation zone and he was getting the best out of a terrible squad.

Some people might think it's more than just a "narrative".    And not just people from outside, either ...

I wasn't as against Cooper as most were but I don't think anyone can say it was working. We had more points than some below us but didn't deserve to. There wasn't any evidence of a coherent plan or that the players were buying into him. I think if he just had one of them he would have kept his job. Even if every stat like xG was well in the favour of sacking him. Sacking him was one thing Top has actually got right in the last few years.

Ultimately, we made a hash of Enzos replacement and I can only imagine him leaving caused us to start again with player recruitment when we again made a hash of.

Whatever happens this season we need to have a better strategy moving forward

Did their keeper really have a proper save to make? Felt like only tame efforts or failed to hit the target. The stat that we dominated is slightly misleading granted both teams were poor

I can't believe how we allowed them to walk through our midfield and defence without any attempt at a tackle nor how we gave them a free header without a challenge. Disgraceful.

Just watched the goals back and Soumare yet again offering zero protection for the defence.

I’m convinced that if we signed a competent DM then our defence improves hugely.

That half arsed jog alongside Sarr ffs! What’s happened to a solid slide tackle, surely he can read the danger as El Khannouss is struggling. I can’t believe that either of them didn’t commit a foul  or attempt one when he starts driving towards our box and Vestergaard has to do better with a straight ball to Mateta.

This!

I can't believe our players can t see danger and give away a free kick

Watched Soumare again for their first goal. He watches Sarr dispossess Mavididi with BEK chasing him, he's goalside and is close enough to stop his run, block the pass. But he just stands there watching. I've praised him for his improvement this season but the guy will always be a bit lazy defensively, won't he

I think our general play is quite good, the front four link and move well, the players are comfortable in the ball but we are totally ineffective in both boxes. Too many good chances missed and soft goals conceded.

I cannot see it changing. Van Nistelrooy is trying to give us a shape and structure but without the end product so far.

Your correct, the manager can setup  team with the right tactics and shape but in the end if the players aren’t good enough then you are always screwed. And these players ain’t good enough.

Vestergaard starting last eighteen PL games netted us ONE win. Does the manager enjoy statistics?

Seen someone earlier saying "Vestergaard in 2025 ffs". Try Vestergaard in 2027. Club run by saboteurs.

This will keep happening. I’m not convinced his abilities on the ball make up for it.

If Ndidi, Ricardo and Fatawu were available, then I would be happy with no signings this window and I reckon we stay up. Without them its hard to see what we will find that improve us enough.

Cooper vs RVN debate is irrelevant because the manager can only do so much with the current systemic problems at the club, and also who would you rather have building between now and possible promotion push next season, Cooper or Ruud?

Alot of fans were ridiculing Ndidi and saying how much better off we'd be without him. He's missed 6 PL games, we've lost all 6, conceding 16 goals. Winks and Soumare are a revolving door midfield and Coady and Vesty are like traffic cones.

As I’ve said in the post you quoted, a competent DM makes us a much better team. A shit defence with no cover is a disaster, if you have cover it makes you a completely different team and we don’t concede that first.

We are beyond dross. No fight. No passion. No desire. No obvious self respect. Just pointless at this point. Grinding out relegation results with cruel efficiency.
