IF players are coming in (and I have my doubts) then we're playing a risky game here. It's all well and good getting good fees for the leavers, but the later we leave it, the more we'll end up paying for replacements. Teams will know we're desperate.

£15m for Cresswell would be awful business with our needs. I would argue a centre back is 5th in pecking order behind a cm, Striker, left back and CDM. 
 

Chilwell is on over £100k and is shite now.

Given some of the deals we have been doing recently I wonder if we have agreed PSR fiddle deals in return similarly to Golding, would not be shocked if we see a player come in from Palace if BEK goes there and possibly a Leeds player joining us after the Justin deal.

These deals seem to happen when we have achieved a lower than expected transfer fee, so I would be terrified to think what junk Leeds might ‘gift’ us with if there true!

We did it with Chelsea when they signed KDH, Golding effectively covered the first years PSR payment.

I’d love to know how far behind the curve we feel we are financially. Even if we could only reinvest the McAteer money, that could easily be £50m spent on players with 5 year contracts.

Could be a really interesting deadline day for us.

Lets face it, it will be 1/2 players max. There is no way we have gone almost the whole summer without signing anyone and suddenly buy 5/6 players this late on. The Ndidi money came through a while back and still nothing in terms of replacing him

Billing going abroad for 5 Mill, he's not amazing but he's a threat, physical, got an edge to him. Id say hes a solid championship option for 5 mill

This is what I think. Unless there's a dominoes run of deals going on behind the scenes, I'm thinking 2 transfers or loans.

Conor Coventry was impressive the other day.

 

He's the kind of midfielder we need, both comfortable on the ball and strong defensively. Technique on the shot against Stolarczyk was excellent as well.

 

Think there's a Prem standard midfielder in there.

As @Sankey93 posted, Ramazani makes the most sense to us and is surplus to them.  So if you need to panic, panic on that.

I can only imagine it’s because we’ve got to clear out more players before any incomings (Faes, BEK, Winks etc)

 

the club don’t want to find themselves in a situation where they bring players in now and then for whatever reason the sales of the players mentioned above (and maybe others) collapse and they are left in the shit.

 

its a very risky game tho as some of these outgoings may not happen till deadline day

Anselmo Macnulty's contract runs out at the end of season and has started the season strongly.

 

Would be a good purchase if we can get Faes out the door.
