Maybe one that hasn't broken just about every election promise.

That's clearly rather subjective, but depending on one's definition of breaking promises I'd posit that rules out either all three or none of the largest polling parties right now.

Also, it might depend on the promises being made.

Would that have prevented Rachel from accounts lying on her CV.

By her own standards she should resign.

You’re not seriously comparing an alleged CV discrepancy to a Prime Minister breaking his own law repeatedly then lying about it to the public, the police and in the Commons repeatedly for months on end?

Everyone exaggerates on a CV and job app. You're a liar if you say you don't.

I’m literally adding extra lies to my CV as we speak.

Not when you're chancellor of the exchequer.

I find it remarkable how you seem to be perfectly OK with her lies. From a party who promised to clean up politics.

1. No tax increases

2. Protect farmers

3. Smash the gangs

4. Protect pensioners

5. Waspi women

6. Cut energy bills

7. Freeze Council tax

Just a few off the top off my head.

I was thinking more about promises made by other parties should they have power and whether or not them being kept is in any way a good idea for the future of a great many people.

Not sure why that's relevant and it would be pure guess work whether others would have kept to their election pledges for the good of the country or not.

Well, among the other two leading lights, one of them has a recent fourteen year track record to examine on that score, and the other hasn't had power but given the content of at least some of their promises it might be better for the future if they weren't kept.

Edit: the relevant point is that people can slam the current government for broken promises all they like, some of it may even be true, but in the absence of a stated and proven better option it all sounds rather hollow.

Broken promises and pledges is what eventually brings down government's, see the last election.

Sometimes a change is needed which isn't always for better.

Can't disagree with either of those statements.

SHOCKING:

It had previously claimed she worked as an economist at the bank but she instead held a management role in the bank's Customer Relations department, which dealt with complaints.

I have sacked recruits for less, shame, shame, shame..................

Never lied once on a CV.

I am not given to lying, ever.

Just cos you're some jaded someone could carve a Buddha out of you doesn't mean there are some honest people in the world.

What benefit is there in claiming to be able to do something you can't?

I am glad the change is in place, if discomfited by the admittedly expected duplicity evident in this new regime, as in all politicians it seems, but to suggest critique without alternatives is not valid is a strange one too me (if this is indeed what was your intention)

Critique without better alternatives certainly isn't entirely invalid, but seeing as it doesn't do the work to suggest a better way and instead suggests a gamble with lives and money (in this case) at best, it does appear less valid to me.

While a lot of his more extreme stuff is proper wack job, some of his less extreme views around ultra processed food and what not could actually have a very big positive impact.

Do not necessarily disagree as the line between critique and complaining is fairly thin, so suggesting an outcome that could at least conceptually lead to change is welcome in such scenarios.

Today's fun fact is that anyone who still thinks the 'rAcHeL fRoM aCcOunTs' gag is funny has the originality, wit and banter of a Dignitas waiting room.
