Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to return to Leicester after all this game time.

If what I was told in January about what his family have been saying is true, it's not just the fans that will be delighted if a certain someone finally moves on this summer.

There has to be a reason why repeated managers refuse to play our young players.

Why would you think that JR might be moving on in the summer ?

I think Alves himself liked an anti Rudkin post on social media didn’t he. Clearly not a fan.

I’d be very surprised if there aren’t. Hopefully they include Rudkin being moved to concentrate on the horses to make way for a new DoF.

But does the club have the knowledge to employ a talented DoF, Im not sure. I'm hoping they get outside advice.

This is the key question. I guess we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed on this one.

That's a worry.  I wonder whether they could turn to some insightful past players for advice? Schmeichel is the most obvious one.

Good shout. Clearly loves the club as well.

I'd have Pearson back in recruitment.

So ya telling me the parents of a Leicester city player not being played are upset then, is that it in a nutshell?

It might be the fact that the club didn't allow him to go on loan in the summer, made a big deal of promoting him to the first team, gave him guarantees for him to sign a 4 year contract and then barely gave him any minutes, not even in the league cup against opposition lower in the pyramid than he is playing against now.

We, or more specifically Rudkin, messed Alves around a lot in the last year.

I thought we wanted him to go on loan, but no suitable offers came in.

There were offers but not from teams the club considered at a high enough level. Still better than being left on standby in the first team yet never getting on the bench so no game time at senior or youth level.

Think you have to blame Cooper and RVN for that one, they pick he team.

It's a DoF's job to plan the future of the squad and communicate with the players how they fit into those plans. That should involve discussions with the manager at that time of what the player's role in the squad is and what they see the future of that player being, especially when the player is looking to sign a new contract.

If, for example, Cooper had said that Will would have a role this season and then didn't carry it through in practice then it would be Rudkin's job to communicate with the player and the player's family and give them assurances that there is still a revised plan for him. From the sounds of it they were left in the dark with lot of uncertainty of how Alves would take the next step in his career.

I reckon we will but it will likely be such a laboured process, I’d bet a chunk of my mortgage we will have another ‘investigation’ internally and no-one out until late June earliest, no dof in until July. We just need anyone with any sort of positive experience previously who can put through a signing in less than two weeks, and can sell up without getting greedy

Top will get advice from Rodgers who will tell him to re-employ Congerton as head of recruitment.
