The same people that were in charge when we was in the Championship last time? Didn't we win the league then?

They got lucky with the Enzo appointment.

This time we’ll be proper fabucked as pretty much every manager around will know they’ll be bullshitted.

We’ll end up in a Holloway situation.  I fully expect us to get relegated to League 1 within 3 seasons and I think we’ll stay there for a while.

Most successful team in the second tier, won it 8 times already. Let's go for a 9th why not?

On a more serious note, it’s hard to say what players will still be around, who the manager will be, or what sanctions the EFL might impose on us. At this stage it's almost impossible to predict.

All i'm hoping for is that we see the back of Rudkin or King Power finally **** off and sell the club... unbelievable they've allowed it to get to this after what Vichai had built here. 2 relegations in 3 seasons. Sad times.

Ah yes, they get lucky with the good players and managers, but are fully to blame for any bad appointments. I see.

We can't sit here and objectively think everything that has gone well for us i.e Maresca was ''luck''

We all agree the bad decisions outweigh the good ones which is why we are in this position. It's just petulent to highlight everything that is good has been luck, there just hasn't been much good to celebrate lol

2% based on what? There's really no facts to work with other than that we have incompetence and malaise ingrained throughout the club. We'd have to see what players we have and what manager we have.

One thing we can be certain of is we won't be in the Premier League for some time.

People said this when we got relegated two seasons ago.

You do realise how weak the bottom of the Championship is?

Teams have gone down in worse states than us and been "fine". You only have to look at the mess Sheffield United are yet they're going to be promoted again.

If we lose Mads and Bilal I can’t see Leicester challenging for promotion. Ask yourself where the creativity leadership and regulati goals are going to come from. The recruitment this year has been so poor overall with little emphasis on potential and over paying for experience. This January window selling off Cannon is hardly helpful.

Signed a load players capable of winning the Championship but only two of them had real promise of being successful in the Premier League. One of them in particular is a disaster of a signing

A real neat summary of LCFC strategy. The needs must, short term thinking routes

This squad would be midtable quality at best. We'll lose Mads when we're inevitably relegated, but no one is going to want the rest of the feckless, overpaid tossers that we have on the books. I think Vardy will retire.

Given how expensive his wife is, feels inevitable he'll be in Saudi.

Yeah you are right. But for every Sheff U, take your pick from West Brom, Norwich, Stoke, Luton.

Notably Sheff U and Burnley both got new owners around the time of their relegations, which I think is the key difference in terms of dedication to make it work. Three of those I named the owners become over washed with debt and had to cut back

It was vital we got out of the Championship last time. We had two years of massive losses on the books and a huge wage bill.
We had to sign the players to get out that league, which was successful.
We did also get Mads and Fatawu, that were great finds, so it wasn’t all about getting in high earners.

A front line of Fats, Mavididi and Patson should be capable of scoring loads

There is an interesting passage on the article about Sheffield United’s transfer business yesterday. Can you imagine us changing our method to recruit smarter?

Nigerian winger Nwachukwu, 19, arrives from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, while 22-year-old Peruvian Caceres joins from FBC Melgar in his homeland, with both signings the product of the club's new data driven transfer strategy.

"With the collaborative way we work with regards signings, the options available to the club under the new ownership allows us to cast our net further afield," Wilder added, external.

"I've spoken previously about how we are looking to be more data driven with some of our targets, and we have explored the use of this to find players which were previously not on our radar.

"Jefferson has been identified using this strategy, he's a young lad who we're keen to develop."

Literally only mentioned Enzo.

We'd be in a strong position to come back and will still have a lot of players on the books who proved this last time. Suspect there will be a managerial change so final position will depend a lot on that, but expect us to be top 6.

There's a lot of emotions running high at the moment but most relegated clubs are fighting promotion the season after. Leeds failed and sold decent players yet could still win the title this year. A poor Burnley and Sheff Utd also in the mix. And all at a lower pace than we set.

There won't be an embargo, we'll likely have a couple of assets to shift to bridge the revenue gap a little, and I think it may well only be the relegated clubs receiving any sort of parachute payment next season. I think I'd have Ipswich as favourites but you could see them lose Delap, Hutchinson, and McKenna quite feasibly.

I know but you see it everywhere - anything positive is ''luck''.

We don't account for bad decision making as ''oh never mind we signed Skipp, Ayew, Coady and gave Vestergaard a 3 year extension and it was really bad luck''

It's not bad luck it's piss poor oversight and management - they have got some stuff right but clearly the wrong decisions outweight the correct ones at the minute and have done for a while.

Would Dyche join us in the Champo if he's still out of work? Probably the best chance we have of challenging for promotion without striking lucky on an untested coach like Maresca.

I don’t think it’s going to be the fire sale expected, we can sell 5/6 expendable first teamers and Mads and be fine for PSR, realistically we were in worst state last time and made 70m, Hermansen for 40-50 and then Winks/Ndidi/Faes/Vestegaard/VK/released contacts/Daka/Soumare will be enough to cover the majority of the rest

Think El K and Fatawu have a good chance of being here next year and those two in an attack in the championship will tear it up

Oh I agree but some people in this thread talk as if it's only us that have issues. Talk of back to back relegation (again) is ridiculous. The division is really weak, especially bottom half up, obviously there's teams there with very little budget too.

I picked Sheffield United from the top of my head because they had issues off the field, got relegated with a poor side who performed poorly in the Premier League, and started this season with a points deduction. Just keeping it positive that clubs like that can be successful even when a mess off field.

Are you forgetting we have Ayew and BDCR?

I'd be happy with a complete clear out. We need to get rid of those who have been here for a few years and look forward.

Definitely keep the likes of Okali Jacub and maybe a few other senior players and then focus on youth and some fresh faces.

Those that have been relegated twice with us can do one.

I think that we should to rely on the academy as we can't trust the club in the transfer market.

Stolarcyk, Alves, Cartwright, Braybrooke, McAteer and Nelson might form the basis of a good championship team we could all get behind.  Even Monga and that Evans kid, but maybe too early for them and may get poached anyway.

Add in a bit of experience - Ayew, flippin Lurch that we lumbered ourselves with again, Ricardo if he's not broken and then add some good Championship players like Fats and Mavididi.  Flush out some dross, I'm looking at you Wout and we'll be fine.

Baffled by anybody wanting Dyche. Moyes has just walked into Everton and instantly improved them to a massive degree. Dyche is a dinosaur - appointing him would only bring us more misery.
