I have watched the fancied teams this weekend, strikers look poor. Ayew and Daka, as sub, may not be as bad as I feared.

I guess a point decision could be the main concern .

Daka got picked ahead of him that tell you a lot and he looked ok in this league and he’s dog poo. He will score a few for Sheffield but he’s nothing special

Mate, I try to set aside obvious bias but our players should've watched today's games and, if their heads are right, thought 'fck yeah'

 

Problem is, are their heads right? If they are, the league is there for the taking

Having watched Southampton today there side looked nothing like the squad they had in the premier where they were terrible, if we only lose Mads and Wilf we basically still have the same squad as last season plus alot of talented youngest. On paper and style of play you should be far too good, but almost feel like I'm tempting fate by saying that, the biggest concern to us is possible points deduction and how many, if it only 6 should be fine, even losing 12 isn't the end of world if you still can get 90 points and even with a points deduction play off spot isn't going to be too difficult if you winning most of your games.

I've seen nothing to suggest that we should be concerned.  

 

We need to use today's game to send a message and put at least 4 past them.

I'm all for the bullishness of our chances this season, but let's stay humble for the first few games eh? There's a reason we got relegated. Our squad has some real strengths, but midfield and upfront there are still plenty of questions.

 

Today I'll take a win, however we get it. Then we build and prove ourselves worthy of challenging. First gameweek is always insane. First 10 games just as crazy. Last time we were down here, Preston were top of the league for the opening few weeks! And it meant nothing in the end.

Did you see George Hurst on Friday. He is an absolute pain in the arse for defenders, bullish, a few dark arts and large after his goal. 

He'll be one to watch this year, he has come on a bundle.

What I’ve taken from the first weekend is that most teams are wanting to play high lines, and it is so far completely undoing them. 
 

In short, it’s precisely why we can’t play. Vesty…. He would be the major glaring weakness if we did.

Its puzzling what qualities hes lacking, he's not blessed with explosive pace but not all strikers are, what is saw he got in decent areas and has a powerful shot. Maybe he has an attitude to application problem
