Like I said above, it’s a big let down for me. Can’t remember the last time the game had a red card or it kicked off.

I probably wouldn’t even put it in top 10 derbies in this country.

Timid.

If I was a Wednesday fan I would want to see a player get red carded for a thunderous Vardy type foul or some aggression.

If your gonna lose, do it fighting and show a bit of passion fvck it.

Think over the years when they have played the atmosphere  of a Btum villa  derby is hard to beat

TK Maxx should sponsor it - for when you need a pair of budget handbags :P

I know Wednesday are bad but Utd created some seriously good chances on top of the goals. Their finishing was actually very mixed. Cannon should have scored before he did and the overload towards the end (Bamford flick).

We will need to improve our ability to defend next week or we could be in bother!

Wonder what odds you'd get on Coventry getting 100 points and 100 goals. Would be an all-time choke if they didn't go up from here.

It would, but watching the first half against Albion they were very poor and still a bit of a bomb scare at the back. They’ll drop off a bit, but I still think they’ll make the top two with Ipswich when they finally get going.

Middlesbrough appoint Hellberg.
Swansea appoint Matos.
Norwich appoint Clement.
Just Southampton left looking for a permanent manager.
What’s the betting they don’t get Martin or Gary O’Neil and we end up with one of them when Marti goes?

Southampton won’t go for Gary O’Neil, not with his links to Portsmouth.

This game period we are currently in will see who can cope & come 4th Jan 26 the table might look a little different.

The championship is currently in a cycle of 11 games in a 42 day period, w/end just gone matchday 16 to matchday 26 on the 4th Jan prior to a winter break..bring it on!

They prob won’t but look at who the clubs have hired and it’s out the box way of thinking. Apart from Clement they don’t have any experience in British football.
We won’t do that. It’ll be predictable going for someone with previous experience in the championship.

Surely Southampton are more likely to offer the job to Eckert on a permanent basis than hire O'Neil or Martin?

They prob will.
It’s more the fact that championship clubs look abroad and outside the comfort zone of appointing managers without any experience in this country.
While we’ll be predictable and go someone with previous experience in this league.

I suppose that will depend on whether they beat us tomorrow. If they do, I think Eckert will get it

I agree that we don't cast a broad enough net with our managerial searches, but Matos does have experience in this country, it's basically the same situation as us appointing Maresca.

I take no credit away from Coventry they are deserving of their current position.

But as you bring up our 23/24 season our gap between 2nd and the chasing pack was far greater than Coventry’s currently is and we ended up falling over the line with a 1pt lead from 2nd placed Ipswich & just 3 wins from not getting automatic promotion altogether, there are still 90pts to play for and anything can happen still, it is far from a done deal.

We were struggling to win games, team didnt look comfortable with the system, and whenever either KDH was not playing or the opposition had the confidence to attack us we usually didnt win.
Our reputation led to many teams playing for a draw which contributed heavily to the cushion we built.

We incapable of playing confident attacking football due to the tippy tappy remit from the ownership.  We also havent had a balanced squad for ages as high wages are crippling our ability to shape the squad.

By this I mean that most teams these days bring in circa 10 players every summer to shape their squad, we usually do less than 5 and tend to be last day panic deals.  We cant do the same as we always up against the spending limit, and due to high wages cant shift players to make room.

I put Coventry on to check the score before we kicked off and it took them 3 (three) seconds to score.

They are killing it this year. Averaging almost 3 goals a game.
