Rodgers, on balance, did way more harm than good. Peter Taylor levels of damage that outweigh an FA Cup win.

It really is astounding that you can win our first FA Cup and come out of it probably a net negative. One of those that you'll never really get unless you followed it closely.

To be honest this probably would've been unpopular a few years ago, maybe less so now, but I think King Power without the appointment of Nigel Pearson would've been largely a disaster.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been said more often

Andy King is about the only good player the academy has produced for roughly 20 years.

Harvey Barnes?

Andy King technically wasn't ours too

Martin O'Neill's reign is viewed differently if it had been in the modern social media era.

Intriguing. In what way?

I'm biased because it's the team I grew up with but I think it was a fantastic era. It was the best we'd performed in the top flight for about 20 years, and before that we'd only won one trophy our entire history. It was quite unprecedented levels of success for most fans.

It was a great era. Two trophies and top half finishes is a success. But, taking into account the modern world, there is no doubt this place and Twitter would have melted down with some of the defeats and performances- the regular losses to Derby, a League Cup defeat at Grimsby, 3-0 FA Cup defeats to Palace and Coventry. I think we went four months with just one league win in 98/99.

He got his big games (barring Tottenham) right and that ultimately is what matters but I would suggest Rodgers first two seasons were a success yet the defeats are as big a part of the conversation as the victories. You would have a thread on here calling for O'Neill to go, I'm sure of it.

It isn't to do him or his achievements down, more to highlight how the world of supporting has changed.

It was all worth it. Would much rather win trophies and then implode than be a 'model club' like Brighton.

Agree, better to have experienced all those golden moments of the last 10 years than never had them at all.

But signing a right back that doesn't even get into the team is what actually happened in real life.

This club's an effin joke!

I am not disputing that bit Dave…!

just how people respond to the twists and turns of players transfer sagas!

Every time I go to games with friends/family who aren’t LCFC fans they are always complimentary of our atmosphere (although the concourse is crap compared to their clubs).

Agreed unpopular.

Please detail clubs who play with 2 up top these days

The point was more that we couldn't bed a striker in because Vardy was undroppable, more than suggesting we should play with 2, we had plenty of occasions where we could/should have played 2 strikers but rarely did because Vardy would often have a poor game, so we ended up with a 4-4-1-1 in most cases, which often made it pointless to have players like Slimani who were goal poachers because every time we played him or other strikers they had to drop deep.
Vardy justified being the sole striker, but often in 22/23 his legs were questioned and we still have those questions today.

Odsonne Eduoard makes Akinbiyi look like Ronaldo.

You know it's funny how he was called the worst Premier League striker ever by national media at the time. He got like 10 goals in his first season. There's probably been 100 worse than him since.
