So pretty much stuck with the same muck that can’t even do the basics this season.  Hopefully Fatawu can come back strong as we will have zero ability and entertainment after Mads and Bilal are sold. 
 

I’m hoping to never see Soumare, JJ, Ayew, Reid, Faes, Vestagaard, Daka, Hamza and Coady play for us again. 
 

Stolarczyk, Golding, Alves, Nelson, Okoli and Woyo are at least some hope going forward.

Before we do start looking forward we really need the board to change. Stale ideas, brings stale results. 

 

We need a talented up and coming DoF to bring a fresh approach. This the time to start the reset (2 years too late) and we rebuild our reputation for bringing talented youth players in and selling on. 

 

With the board we have, it'll just be the same cycle. It needs to be broken, and top has to step up.

Not necessarily.  I wouldn't be resigned to that.  Some ambitious clubs that are relegated keep their best players.  Villa kept Grealish.  Sheff Utd still have Hamer.  We have Hermansen and Bilal under contract, wages will be adjusted to Championship levels as per likely contract clauses and we will get parachute payments.  We might even be able to sell some of those that we don't want like Faes and Soumare.

(Oh ok I would keep Bilal too, he should be good in the Championship)

 

Mads would be on the list if I didn't believe we could make Chelsea pay good money for him

If we could keep Mads, Bilal, Ndidi and Fatawu and get rid of the rest that would be brilliant. Major reset required from top to bottom.

Those clubs that you mentioned didn’t have a ridiculous wage bill though.

 

Even after our recent relegation, there is no chance we have the 19th biggest wage bill as our league position suggests.

 

We’re comfortable still paying way over average PL salary on wages.

 

We’ll have to claw that loss of TV money back some way.

I think there's a good chance Mads and BEK go, just not necessarily inevitable.  I don't think we should be resigned to it, the club should try to keep them.  Our wage bill will be reduced by relegation clauses and I think we will finally get some big earners off the bill this time, including the biggest in Vardy, sadly.

Not many out of contract and not many going to be attracting interest from anyone else. Mads will go, probably BEK as well, hopefully we aren't stupid enough to give Ward another contract but who knows. Maybe we could find a buyer for Faes, Winks, Soumare and/or Ndidi. I imagine Okoli & Kristiansen will go on loan somewhere - or maybe Okoli permanently if he has a clause in his contract. Can't see anyone who is in a position to pay their wages wanting anyone else.

Whatever division were in, if we can build the team around El Khannous we're on the right track. 

 

What's more likely to happen is that we sell him and Hermansen for money, stuck with a lot of deadwood and average has beens and then mess up the reinvestment into the squad. 

 

We need to develop a strong spine of the team. All the successful teams have them. 

 

We have two of the parts currently (Mads and Bilal). Okoli could become part of a strong central defence (with the need to replace Faes, Vestergaard and Coady). And we need a dominant, reliable striker. We can't just rely on Vardy to whack out 90mins 3x in a week. It's not possible this season and certainly won't be next. 

 

If we want to be a serious club again we have to get rid of the following at any cost, even if it's at a loss:

 

Ward

Faes

Vestergaard 

Coady 

Skipp

Winks

Ayew

Reid

Daka

Thomas 

Justin

Hamza

McAteer 

 

 

I don't know how that adversely affects the homegrown numbers in the club, if that even matters. But then there comes the involvement of youth (Alves, Braybrooke, Monga, Evans, Nelson...). 

 

Have an actual rebuild of the club. It's worth taking such a risk because we can't rely on any of the above any more.

The overhaul is potentially massive and we come back to whether the DofF / Club is up to the task of moving on players we don’t want and replacing them with players we do.

 

Realistically Mads and Bilal will be off.  We will struggle to shift Vestergaard, Ayew and BDR unless they have a release clause.

 

Stolarcyzk, Nelson, Alves, Evans to be key first team players.

Not a bad first eleven for the championship really. Plus we could sign more when we sell quite a few. Even Ayew, BDR, Vestergaard and Coady who we’d struggle to move on would be decent squad players in the championship.

 

Then add in some of our youngsters like Alves, Braybrooke, Monga, Evans etc we will hopefully do well.

A few others, due to new contracts/ coming through the academy, that may move on - Ndidi, Vestergaard, Justin, Ricardo, Hamza, Thomas, McAteer, BDCR presumably all have a book value of £0. So any sale would represent pure profit.
