I watched Lineker interview Dyche and it sounded like Lineker really wants Dyche to get the Leicester job.

Yep can't fault the interview at all. Silly really but I was surprised by his vocabulary, he comes across as an intelligent guy and very well prepared and planned.

It’s a shame that intelligence, preparation and planning didn’t extend to him being able to organise Southampton’s completely porous defence during the entire time he was with them.

He's literally Rodgers 2.0 how can you be surprised?

 

These people are incredible at talking the talk. It wears thin when you see that they don't walk the walk though.

Listened to it this morning, found it very interesting.

 

i would 100% take him over RVN and get the feeling as if he could talk himself into the job.

 

Sounds obvious, but our next appointment will be determined by who applies. He could end up being the best available option - especially considering he’s without a club now.

I didn’t want to but it’s kind of hard to having listened to that.

 

He took ownership for what went wrong this season and signposted things he would have done differently. Comparing that to Ruud who is putting it on the players it was refreshing to hear. 
 

We could do an awful lot worse.

If Martin has any sense he’ll go abroad. The tide is turning in this country on his style of play and I don’t think it will go down well with most fans.

Whoever it is, bin off RVN now and get him in so that the new man gets the rest of this season to tell the dregs to find themselves a new club and so he gets the whole of pre-season - that's vital in my opinion.

 

I'd go with Dyche. Don't get me wrong, the football will be horrific, but we need someone with an edge right now, someone who will have no problem telling senior pros that they're shit and they can piss off. I think we need a disruptor in the short term. Someone to clear the decks.

It’s just not long term with Martin at all. He might well get us up again but then what? How this style of play ever worked with a promoted team? Although dyche wouldn’t be ideal, I think we’d be more likely competitive with him and the experience he has at both levels.

In the interview he says that if he changed the style it would have sent the wrong message to the players I.e you’re good enough to play like this in the championship but not in the PL.

 

he stated that his squad was weaker in the PL than it was in the championship (some might say the same for us) and that he overthought it too much and tried to adapt his style in certain games without success.

 

Essentially there is nothing wrong with the style, the players just weren’t of a high enough standard.

Exactly though. Any promoted side now is going to be significantly weaker than the rest of the premier league, therefore the style of play just won’t work.

Yeah I think fundamentally although he has accepted some mistakes, ultimately in the interview he did say that if anything he believes in his style more than ever, so as much as it was a brilliant interview and he's better than Ruud. No thanks.

He does come across very well in the interview. But then so did Ruud in his interview with G Nev.

 

Speaking well, doesn't mean you are a great manager.

I think it's highly likely to be Martin. He wouldn't be my first choice but Top will want us to become the Man City of the champ

Martin who has learnt to become more pragmatic after his Southampton experience is fine by me. Football style evangelists either have to adapt or die (in a football sense) so if he’s open to adapting then that’s fine. If not then I don’t want him even near us.

Started managing at a young age think he did 8 years at AFC Fylde. Since then hes challenged himself at bigger clubs like Hartlepool Utd and Stockport County at the moment. Proved each time he can handle the pressure of the bigger club expectations. Can he handle and even bigger club like Leicester in the championship?

Can’t be bothered on debating what I’m about to say because I know some of you feel really strongly about him, but I wouldn’t mind Martin. Spoke really well on MNF and Linekers podcasts in recent weeks, and he’d do really well with us at Championship level - he HAS to show a level of adaption at lower levels of the premier league though. 
 

Order of preference for me:

1. Rosenior 

2. Martin

3. Rohl 

 

But I really like the shouts of Ancelotti and Cuesta too, two appointments in the mould/experience level of Maresca. Restart that process that would have worked out so much better than the current one.
