Martin is a arrogant, egotistical 'Rodger's wanna be,' who would bore us all to death with a possession at all costs style of football Whilst Carrick isn't on my wanted list he has non of the "wonderful qualities " of Martin listed above. He'd actually make us go forward at least, which is a plus. 1

Not sure why as the manager position is so important. Rudders probably did very well with the £10m Enzo compensation clause which got us out of a sticky PSR swamp. It didn't get us out of PSR trouble though we still failed even after selling maresca and KDH and saying we were confident we would pass

I can’t get my head around having to pay RVN millions of pounds for being shit. Whilst I get the frustration, its not how contracts work. Both parties entered in to a contract committing to it, knowing that compensation would be due to either party, if the other was to terminate early. Yes we can be angry at RVN for being stubborn with team selection and prioritising players who shouldn't have been near the pitch. But, we've negotiated the contracted and then not backed him. So we can look at rubbish stats and unwanted records all day long, but ultimately this is our boards doing. 2

Yes - but if compensation was based on win %'s, no manager would be signing a contract to a team in a relegation dogfight. Win %'s are low down there and not always a reflection on the managers ability. I hate where we have got with both players and managers contracts, but we have to play the same game as everyone else. Its an are where those with the deepest pockets ruin it for everyone else.

Out of work so cheap, beat us twice in 2023/24 so gets overestimated on here somewhat despite two pretty disappointing campaigns at Middlesbrough, quite hipster vibes. Basically he's not hugely dissimilar to Martin without a lot of the same baggage. Could see them going for him. He's signed up to Tongue Tied media who apparently represent/represented Jonathon Morgan and Josie Green from the ladies team. So there's the "in" You're right, this has us all over it

Ultimately we offered to handcuff ourselves and put the house on a manager with very little experience. All because we wanted a trendy name with a polo neck. Absolutely unforgiveable, and a much worse crime than the horrendous losing streak RVN took us on.

We hired the last manager based on four games in english football, his aura & an impressive career at Manchester United. He's exactly the sort of calibre of manager we'd go for 2 1

I'd be interested to understand if the fact that he interviewed at Cov/Norwich and got overlooked was brought up in any discussions internally. Seems utterly baffling that we'd go for someone who couldn't get mid table championship clubs but hey ho.

It’s not solely our managements fault for not being the full ticket. It’s down to those in control who appoint them and pay their wages to step in and make it right. Unfortunately none have covered themselves in glory of late.
steveb Posted 5 June 2025 Posted 5 June 2025 So it won`t be russell martin cos he just signed with Rangers, probably a good match for him how about we just stick with RVN, just kidding
Popular Post Lambert09 Posted 5 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 5 June 2025 We’ve really dodged a bullet. “Why rangers” then proceeds to pretty much make it me me me. Couldn’t resist telling everyone about how much interest he had hahaha what a complete melt 6
kingpowerout Posted 5 June 2025 Posted 5 June 2025 What’s next for us tho!? Starting to think we’re just going to keep RVN 1

Shame he hasn’t got any questionable in today’s society social media posts and get HR to put him on a PIP? They shouldn’t be rewarded for failure.
