Russell Martin sides average 60-65% possession.

Carrick 50-55%.

So Martin is the off brand Rodgers, and Carrick is the wish version?

If he wamts to stay in England, he can just wait for a prem sacking early days.

If he wants a summer to get into it, we're not a dreadful option

Can see him back at Celtic if Rodgers goes

Got to be staying now. If it wasn’t done on 4th June  surely he’s staying and in our usual style we never communicate unless it’s something big like a sacking.

Imagine sacking him now. Now that would be an absolute shit show as it would mean they have taken like months after relegation was confirmed to make the decision. I can’t see it happening now.

I agree. As we know the club rarely see things with the same lens that most of us do. There's been numerous occasions where we might have been expecting a particular action, or statement and it hasn't happened.

I think that's where we are now. They're happy with him, and believe he can do a re-build job in the Championship. He's under contract. Notwithstanding what Matty Fryatt's banging on about being mystified, in the club's eyes, there's simply no reason to be communicating anything. A message of support that he's staying undermines him. I suspect there's no replacement manager discussion happening at Ipswich, and I think our board are trying to create that same image of stability.

I'm not saying I support this position, but am surprised by Fryatt and others who think it's not if but when. I genuinely believe it would have happened by now. If I was Ruud, I think I'd be dropping the odd hint to the fans though, along the lines of looking forward to the fixtures, and seeing who our first opponents are etc.

I mean acknowledging the relegation along with a few lines about us building to the future with Ruud would suffice….. would literally put an end to all the speculation, just burying their head in the sand isn’t doing anyone any good!

Perhaps Ruud is the man, perhaps they want him to resign. Who knows? What is for sure it was not RM. Personally sticking with Ruud would lead to more certainty. Certainly of results and goals for and against. Something for us to look forward to!

This thread is getting out of hand. Next manager? There isn’t a vacancy and any speculation has been from crap sources who are being fed by agents who want to use us as leverage.

Didn’t Ruud have to do a presentation and has not heard or been spoken to about what’s happening yet ? So surely under consideration

Carricks loves his team to play possession based football which is the same as Martin.

The way the club are treating the fans with su h disdain,RvN with such disrespect- whatever you think of him - has to be one of the most shameful periods of the  club ever. Thought had crossed my mind that  KP will announce sale of the club - the other ly justification of their appalling behaviour

Yes, that’s how you and I see it, but we know this board doesn't operate like that.

All the Speculation doesn't help anyone, especially Ruud for next season.

If the board has nothing to say, then we stay as we are, end of.

No news isn't necessarily good news, as the saying goes, but no news is no news. I don't know what Matty Fryatt et al are trying to do. They should know how the board operates by now.

The way the board has conducted themselves over the treatment of Ruud to not even have discussions with him is disgusting ! Im not his biggest fan but lets be clear he was obviously sold a lie when he came and has not been backed one bit... If i was Ruud and they eventually say , your the man for the job id tell them to bollox i really would , leave them right in the shit but its what the board deserves the way they have handled themselves over the last few seasons . You cant keep people hanging like that, just tell him either way !

I understand the point of view that there is no vacancy to comment on / RVN is under contract and should crack on.

But when you have suffered your second relegation in 3 years, results have been honking, the owner claims in his program notes that they are planning for the summer and your manager suggests there has been no discussions it ain’t surprising speculation ramps up.

If RVN stays he will need a good window, start well and hope he can win over the doubters. With a potential points deduction, a suspect recruitment system, disinterested owner and split fan base he has an uphill battle.

I would make the change but I increasingly think they stick with RVN.

Zero chance RVN starts well, the bloke's clueless.

I'm confident he'll be sacked as soon as we get our man in.

I truely hope you are right

Could be wrong but surely if RVN was staying there would have been confirmation by now?

I wouldn’t be happy with Kingy getting it.
Get him working with the youth set up.
