Probably the most ridiculous thought I’ve had, which probably means it’s accurate. How likely do you think our owners are to take Rohl away from another Thai owned club?

Our decision making is that bad that I genuinely think we wouldn’t want to make another Thai owner look any worse, and there could be external pressure on that.

It would be a huge gamble to give Andy King the job, I think it could turn sour if results are poor, better to go for someone experienced or has managed a decent amount of games, I would go for Carrick.

I don't think they should go for King, but we don't know whether he's a good manager or not to we can't comment on that really.

My gut is that he may be manager sometime, but not now.

If we went down that path, he'd need a very experienced assistant,  I think it'll be Rohl personally, think thats who we have wanted all along but have to keep everything quiet.

Absolutely baffled that we’re not even being linked to anyone, even Nixon’s Dyche link was tenuous. It’s like even the journos have given up on us and who could blame em.

Order of preference:

Rohl (Lense, Powell, Pedersen and Bibbo)

Dyche (Stone, Loughlan, Woan, Howard and Mercer)

Cifuentes (Xavi Calm)

Carrick (Woodgate)

Hopefully by Friday next week we have it sorted.

Meanwhile Rudkin is STILL here.

Personally I would swap Cifunetes and Carrick above Dyche as I think both a better suited to our squad and the need to promote our academy players.

King screams a move owners in financial difficulties would make to get the fans on side

Yep, and I think he’s smart enough to turn us down for them reasons. I can’t see that working out too well for him and he deserves better than for us to ruin his managerial career before it’s started.

I get where you are coming from I really do.

I just feel Rohl has a real edge on Carrick and Cituentes in terms of his playing style and what he achieved with such a poor squad and situation at Wednesday.

I feel Cifuentes and Carrick are more a risk with Cifuentes lacking the quality back room staff that Rohl has and Carrick not getting over the line with a talented Boro squad.

Also doubt over Carrick playing style being too patient and defensive.

Dyche I know is old school and does employ low blocks and long ball tactics but so did Pearson when we were up against it ( think that first season in the championship following the League one title).

I feel Dyche and his men are very well suited to our situation and requirements.

Rohl is the outstanding candidate, for me. Him coming with Powell really adds something.

I agree Rohl has to be the no 1 target, I just have a massive issue with Dyche being the alternative as it’s such a big shift away and I really don’t think he is the right person to harness and blood the talent in the academy, that is why I think Carrick would be my 2nd choice and Cifuentes 3rd with Dyche as far away from consideration as possible.

I cant believe people want Carrick based on what? He literally failed to get a well backed Boro into the playoffs, thats pretty shite. Id rather keep Rudd. Our fans are baffling!  At least Rudd won something.

Absolutely crazy to think we are still fvcking around with this.

Probably end up sticking with RVN.

Highly unlikely, in my opinion, just from the lack of mention of him during the fixtures releases yesterday. Pretty much confirms he is gone on the 1st of July for me.

Why on earth would you keep Ruud over Carrick?

How do you know he is not a manager? That is my point, we don’t know. All I am saying is if Kingy was to appointed at least it would unite the club and fanbase. He is no more of a gamble than bringing in Dyche with a group of young academy prospects that he is highly likely to ignore.

Course he is much more of a gamble. Dyche has proven to get teams out of this division. Again, I don't want him, but he's not comparable to an ex player who has never managed a game before.

He is if he has demonstrated no real inclination to blood academy players when we are financially snookered and going to have to be heavily reliant on our academy to help our rebuild. That makes Dyche as much of a risk, we saw last summer the damage of appointing a manager who is not aligned and then starts pushing for his own players, Cooper royally fecked us with is scattergun approach, my fear is Dyche would create similar issues and only lead us into further problems down the line.

Dyche has never worked with a club that's known for it academy, so maybe that's a part of the issue as well?

Its not like he's never had younger players in his teams, but the teams just haven't brought that many through. There's not that many prem players that have come through Watford, Burnley and Everton academies in the last twenty years.

People keep saying this but first of all he's never really been in a position too. I imagine when you're in a relegation scrap constantly the last thing you want to do is throw academy players into the mix. Secondly he has managed two clubs very close to two/three of the biggest and best academies in the World. I would guess Man Utd/Man City and potentially Liverpool scouts come looking at young players at Burnley. While Everton have a good success rate of bringing players through they also have massive competition with the same clubs.

edit: Just to add. People talk as if Dyche has managed a massive clubs with a group full of outstanding academy players that he chose to ignore. I bet nobody can even name a player from Burnley that Dyche never "blood through".

He's gone. I don't think there is any doubt about that. Who replaces him is anybody's guess given the complete absence of credible rumours.

I am not saying he is suitable to be our manager now, but Pearson believes he could be a manager in the future

He's still very, very much learning. I imagine he's years away from taking a senior management post.

I understand the buzz on here but I do wish people would adjust their expectations, back off and let him develop a while.

Spot on, I actually think we let him down massively chucking him into being a first team coach as essentially a PR stunt!

This season would be an excellent chance for him to be Under18 manager for example. But feels like he's now very attached to the first team.

First team coach is about right for this stage of Andy King’s career. Look at Chris Davies was a first team coach for a while before getting his first managerial stint at Birmingham City.

We would be daft to appoint King as our first team manager now let him bide his time.
