Definite dark horse for the job. Horrifically streaky record at QPR but did a good job overall. Would suit our squad too I think.

Would also make sense with the timing as he’s only just come off gardening leave. Ended really strangely there, seems like their fans don’t really know why or what happened.

QPR fans rate him very highly. They seem to regard the way he turned them around in 23/24 as little short of a miracle. Supposedly he likes to play possession football but is tactically flexible and puts a strong emphasis on a solid defence. I wouldn't be averse, personally.

Neither would I. Be something a bit different and I think there is a bit more of a higher ceiling with him. It was up and down at QPR but like you say,  he did pull off a bit of a miracle there in 23/24. They were almost dead and buried when we played them away under their previous manager if I remember correctly.

I was going to mention about Cifuentes before his name was brought up in the last two thread pages. Also feel he could be an option worth considering.

I saw rumours when Cifuentes was put on gardening leave that it was because he interviewed for or expressed interest in the West Brom job, but more recently I've seen some comments from QPR fans on social media that it was because he had a falling out with their 27-year-old CEO Christian Nourry over recruitment/player sales and the West Brom job coming up was just a convenient excuse for their board to get rid of him

Yeah seems like no one really knows.

Lost 6-2 to Ruud (not that we could see what was happening)

Rubbish manager

Honestly that game was so odd. Couldn’t see the game and Wout faes scored from 30 yards …

Leaning towards the option that saw us not score a goal at home in 4 months, interesting.

Allowing a manager to rebuild a squad when he’s got next to zero support from fans and has shown the players nothing to convince them he’s the man is suicide, I recon we go with your option.

Yes I get it's not ideal, we would really want him gone.

Using the same sarcasm, let's lean towards the alternative which is to trust the board to put in a replacement... You know, the ones that thought Cooper would be good and RVN.

All that will happen is we will have another car crash manager who will fail and we'll be hearing the same "we can't afford to sack him in year"

There's going to be no money to spend, RVN has worked with this squad and has used the youngsters and this is a lower level so he should be able to make it work. If he can't, we can still sack him.

I take your point and your comment is probably tongue in cheek, but if remember correctly, they played their reserves and we went full strength (whatever that suggests)

I see Rob Edward’s was just appointed by Middleborough. Decent appointment for them

He was built on Nathan Jones success at Luton. Once in the Premier league he didn't have a clue... no way hes championship manager. Play off final win again it was jones squad.

And to use a more relevent example, when we played them in the championship (after he was appointed), they were super impressive. Big fan of what Rohl has done but Cifuentes is one of the very few managers ever, where I've been particularly impressed with the setup of the team/management in a game against us (often the view is that it's more about our players playing poorly, being managed poorly or just individuals in the opposition team playing better)

And, unusually, not in his own goal.

Still rode their luck a fair bit - Stevie Wonder could have seen their first goal was offside if I recall. But they did play well and you always need a bit of luck in those games I suppose.

I'd certainly take him over some of the names mentioned.

But for him to be considered here, our Board would have to know who he is.

I'm not even sure Rudkin / Top will have even heard of him

Really?  Have you not read the dozens of posts and now media articles explaining they cannot announce anything until the start of the new accounting period in July?

Since when have posts on here  been an official source of communication from the club?

Media oulets are just full of speculation.

I've not seen any official communication on the club website explaining the above, we're in limbo.

Did you actually expect the club to put out an official statement saying, “Yeah we’re gonna sack Ruud but we have to wait until 1July because we’re in the shit with PSR again”?

They literally cannot say anything without triggering the costs in this year, hence the silence.

What a pathetic way to run a football club. I really do despair for the future.

We have the owners, management and a majority of players who don’t give a toss.

I think most of the fans have lost interest in this present regime.

I noticed its also effecting this forum, where there's a been a decline in activity. If the club can't be bothered to do anything proper why should we waste our minds thinking about the club

The only positives I get now associated with this club are the Bentleys Roof site with old
