Wilder is similar to Dyche in that both managers are old school and only connect with certain players, their squads are primarily British based players you rarely see any foreign or flair players in either of their teams. 100% avoid as our board won't have realised this.

He does play youngsters though

If we do end up with Chris Wilder then just shows us how far we have sunk.

 

The Club is a shambles in terms of appointing managers

 

They should be scouting the globe on potential new managers who fit in with how the club wants to play. Then when one manager leaves or gets sacked they should have at least a shortlist of who they may want.

 

Thing is we have a bunch of dinosaurs in charge who think experience is better or wait till the manager is sacked to then start the search

 

This is a new era for us.. we have lots of youth players coming through. We need a manager who is prepared to use them and who also has some ability tactically.

 

Wilder's Sheffield United team absolutely got rolled over by Burnley and Leeds when they played last year.  He's one dimensional and predictable and his transfer record is appalling. Buying Tom cannon for £10 million and Brewster for £23.5million shows that.

 

I hope it's not him

Youth under Chris Wilder: 

 

Wilders captain last season was an academy product, 20 year old Oli Arblaster 

 

Sydie Peck at 20 played virtually every game for him 

 

He brought though David Brooks at 18 previously to become a regular before he got his PL move 

 

Last few seasons he’s brought in young U23 PL loans & good lower league players 

 

Cooper in goal last season at 22/23 

Burrows at LB at 21

 

 

Every team needs a blend of youth/experience but I’d back him to use the youth more than a Dyche potentially would. I think he’d look at them and see the rebuild and overhaul of trusting majority of the youth as an exciting opportunity and one that’s pretty rare these days in football! 
 

Started in Sheffield in the lower Saturday leagues like a certain former Number 9, we all love an underdog story from humble begginings. 

 

We’re never going to agree on the same fit and there are better fits and most of them are potentially from abroad ( we all know they won’t look there) but it wouldn’t be the worst appointment! 
I think most of the championship if appointed would look at us under Wilder with the Championship quality we have ( we all know there’s a massive gap between the leagues) and think ‘ they’ll be top 2’ ( point deduction depending)

Yea, we're so heavily reliant on agents/outsiders now we have no people with footballing knowledge left at the club (Top believes the last one is Rudkin, but we know better) after Rodgers culled most of them and the best of the rest were poached.

 

We desperately need a Steve Walsh/Nigel Pearson emergency director of football/chief scout combo to steady the ship.

A lot of them left because they couldn’t work with our cult like internal culture too

This is the best job Chris Wilder will ever get so you just know he’ll be brown nosing Top & Rudkin in the media. Telling everyone how great the club and facilities are. 
 

Least under Maresca you knew he could see through both Top & Rudkin and was starting to call them out. Even getting his mate Guillem Balague to say everything wasn’t rosy at the club. 
 

The decline of this club in such a short space of time is astonishing and it will only get worse under this ownership. 4 years ago we had just won the Fa Cup & finished 5th in the premier league.
 

Look at us now, trying to find positives in appointing Chris Wilder in the Championship.

I'm not sure anybody knows what's going on in the betting world in relation to all this.

 

Betfair have suspended the market and have Wilder at 1/100 and also Danny Rohl at 1/25 and Dyche at 20/21.

 

Whilst Sky still have Wilder at 22-1?

Wilder is 4/1 on the betfair main site, as he is on most other sites. His odds have certainly tumbled, but that’s still a good price for anyone who thinks it’s going to happen.

This is why culturally Maresca was so much more than his brand of football.

 

Leicester need a no nonsense tolerated manager to function. 

 

If Rudkin likes someone it's probably a total non-starter.

In that Nixon article it says that’s why they are not going for Dyche and probably why they sacked Ruud they don’t like being called out or up setting players who are not pulling there weight
