Watching Sheffield United last season in the play offs, they looked so strong, but how Sunderland got that win in the final was very strange, it was all in their hands and can only be down to tactical failure by Wilder, so it is very strange they'd go for him, its like they cant be arsed

I don’t actually think Wilder is an awful fit, but it’s so so uninspiring. So sick of them just going to the option that’s right in front of them or offered up by their favourite agent/agency. Gone are the days where we thought a bit outside of the box at this football club.

Didn’t they also bottle the final 10 games and throw away automatic promotion? 
 

Not a good sign either.

Wilder would show a lack of ambition.  Would Ipswich, Southampton, etc consider him if the had a vacancy ......no

Hes the kind of manager Preston or Stoke would be looking at, he shouldn't really be in consideration at all. Steve Cooper all over again.

Wouldn’t be my first choice but don’t think it’s a disaster. But like you say, it’s frustrating that it comes via agents and not our own work. 


I don’t agree - there was signs towards the back end of United’s season he was losing the plot.

 

Plus, it instantly feels a ‘short term’ decision - Wilder wouldn’t last 2-3 seasons with us.

 

I have no issue with the club sounding him out as an option - that would be sensible due diligence - but he’s not the best candidate by far.

 

I’m also not totally against a delay in hiring anyone for the time being… it gives us time to look at Kingy more and for him to properly stake a claim - and my hunch is that he’s actually the best long term solution for us.

There is no way king should be offered the job. Firstly it wouldn’t be fair on him in terms of working under a complete shit show and secondly he’s got absolutely no experience of taking a senior team in multiple matches.

If he has made the shortlist, he is probably bottom of that shortlist. There is someone else that they want and I suspect that is Rohl. It’s like Cooper last year, he was bottom of the shortlist and we ended with him because we couldn’t get Potter or whoever. 
 

It’s not good and it’s still a shit shortlist because the risk above still applies. 
 

But if he was the favourite, he doesn’t make a he shortlist he just gets hired. Why have a shortlist for a vacant role and the man you want is unemployed. 
 

Let’s just hope we have better luck than last year - luck is something we are very dependant on with Top the dick and Rudkin the cum stain.

If it's Wilder then Top and Rudkin are just ****ing trolling us now. Another Cooper in my opinion. It seems 'free agent' and 'worked in the UK' are the only criteria these two ****ing idiots look for.

I would call it lazy and unimaginative just because he’s available don’t mean we have to interview him.

So, here is my take.

 

If Rohl is who we want, and personal terms have been agreed (this is rumoured) but the hold up is Sheff Weds being a nightmare to negotiate with, then i say lets just wait and stick with King as interim as long as King is in tune with what Rohl wants out of the squad. Its a long, long slog in the Championship, and im less concerned with having to wait and get things right with Rohl than I am bringing in Wilder or Dyche. Lets hope Wilder has been spoken to just to keep names on a shortlist.

This would all be fine, as long as we shifted a couple of unwanted players out, and brought in a new striker, in that interim period. 
 

Why are we making every single thing so hard? It really really isn't as difficult as our moronic  board are making it look.

Wilder has had sheff utd playing some great football and has achieved a lot with them, in the other parts of his managerial history that bothers both me and others.

 

positives are he is fairly flexible with his approach and plays an attractive style and isn’t scared to blood the youth.

 

i wouldn’t be surprised if we went with him with Andy king hopefully his number 2.

I’m not sure… I personally think this is just a little filler rumour and won’t transpire to be true.

Odds have only come in because of the article, or a nope so. 
 

noticed kingy is in the betting odds and he wasn’t before. Probably because of one friendly win and a couple of bet.
