100%. We've wasted money on players that have been poor, but he's the only player so terrible at his job there's a strong case to make for him single handedly relegating us. 

 

At least this year the entire back four have made it a team effort to condemn us rather than being a sole player.

My pick is Ryan Bertrand. I don’t think I have ever seen such a waste of a shirt who clearly came here to consolidate his pension pot. Absolute melt.

 

Edit. In truth, the list is so long you could pick Daka, Soumare, Faes, Coady, Musa, Silva, etc. and you wouldn’t be wrong.

I agree, because getting the right player at that point could well have made all the difference. 

 

We'll never know whether or not it was a sliding doors moment, but it looked that way.

If I remember correctly someone did actually end up on the pitch lol Musa honestly looked liked he had won a competition that night

Castagne was okay as well. As I recall at the time people were saying he was better than Chilwell. Being part of a relegated team means **** all too, Vardy, Izzet and Elliott were all part of relegated teams on more than one occasion.

Castagne was a perfect test case for why Rodgers is a mediocre coach.

 

Joined us after being coached by Gasperini, who is world class. First season with us he had a great footballing IQ, always making the right runs going forwards and read the game intelligently when defending. At that point in time he was better than Chilwell and one of the best fullbacks in the league.

 

Fast forward to our relegation season and he was constantly playing the opposition onside and was all over the place defensively. He had become a complete donkey that gave the likes of Amartey and Faes a run for their money in terms of pig headedness.

 

You almost have to treat Castagne in his debut season and his final season as two different players. In the first season he was an important part of the FA cup win, in his last he was a key factor in our relegation.
