As good as Rohl may be, the £5m compo is going to put most clubs off.

Its not £5million to a championship club I don't think.

We've been linked with one of his assistants at Wednesday...

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/coach-told-to-leave-toxic-sheffield-wednesday-amid-leicester-city-interest/

One of Sheffield Wednesday's coaches, Henrik Pedersen, has been linked with joining Leicester City's coaching staff.

A managerial appointment is expected to be made by the Foxes after they officially part ways with Ruud Van Nistelrooy - a domino that is set to fall sooner than later.

Former Southampton boss Russell Martin is expected to take the Dutchman's place in the dugout at the King Power Stadium. According to The Star, Leicester want the Wednesday coach to join him.

This all comes amid a period of huge uncertainty at Hillsborough. Their manager, Danny Rohl, has seemingly been shopping himself about Europe.

The only thing that has reportedly stopped clubs like the Saints, or even Leicester, from appointing him is the compensation that they would then owe Wednesday to get the German out of his deal, which still has two years left on it. The requisite fee has been described as being "excessive and prohibitive", following broken-down talks between Rohl and Werder Bremen.

I think so , I think Rohl is our main target.

I don’t think so, think Martin is done and dusted personally.

He might well be. But it also wouldn't be a shock if it doesn't turn out to be him. Every time we change manager - at least in recent years - it seems that one name leads the pack to the point at which everybody thinks it's done and dusted, and then somebody else gets the job. Before we appointed Enzo it was Scott Parker, who the media had basically crowned as our new manager. I remember one Leicester-supporting self-styled ITK on twitter claiming that Parker had signed the contract and was at Seagrave having his media pics done. Then a few hours later we found out it was Maresca. I'm not saying this will necessarily happen this time, but it wouldn't be a shock if it did.

Yeah that’s fair enough, and it might turn out to be that, but I’d be shocked if it did.

There was a report saying Martin wanted a S/W coach in his team.

This video gives a feel of why he's so highly rated.

Came into a Wednesday side with 2 points from 10 that was useless in every way and turned them into a direct, high press side that is comfortably midtable in the championship. People always ask the question "what difference would a new manager make when the players are clearly out of their depth", here we have Rohl getting the players to perform way above their level.

Thank you for sharing. Boney M is in my head now. Cheers.

Yeah the Pedersen rumours come from Martin apparently wanting him as part of his backroom team, a lot of Wednesday fans rate him and think he could take over when Rohl inevitably leaves. Rohl and Pedersen would be a massive step forward.

Watching this has made me want Rohl even more. His football is direct, but attacking, they looked organised and with some creativity. Also a novelty....shots outside the box!!!

Come Rohl, be the next Nigel at Leicester City Football Club

Mav, Fatawu would love it!

Extended interview with him about his time at Wednesday.

Doesn't quite have the gift of the gab like Russell does which Top would be all over. Far better than that dinosaur Dyche has in his recent media stuff though

Dyche talks tripe in post match interviews, I really don't think he's the right for for us.

Danny Rohl (and multiple other managers we could go for) would massively utilise the most promising and proven players we have at the club in Fatawu, Mavididi, Bilal, Monga, Alves, Evans, Nelson, even Justin and Thomas.

Managers like Russell Martin would utilise Vestergaard and Winks, whilst possibly improving players like Nelson, Justin, Okoli. He's unlikely to fancy Stolarzcyk unless he feels he can massively improve on the ball, he's very likely to completely nulify the intensity of Fatawu, Mavididi, Bilal, Monga, Alves and Evans.

As well as we did last season, most of the players that made that squad tick have already left, or are likely to leave in the upcoming window, so I don't see our predicted leftover squad being a natural fit for RM. No Vardy, likely no Ricardo, no KDH, no Ndidi, no Hermansen, Faes will be gone (thank god but he did at least fit the system last season)

We need a manager who can come in and use the squad available and be flexible, we aren't going to be spending £45m and giving out 90k a week contracts this time around.

He's the one for me fatty.

Come on Top start making some bloody good decisions.

Rohl in retire Rudkin get rid of Whelan and Glover too.

Take the points deduction on the chin if reasonable i.e 6 points or so

Wipe the slate clean and start planning with a clear strategy for the next 10 years.

Encourage an energetic hungry young team - You've invested enough in the training facilities - prove it's not a white elephant.

Would be interested in the guy he was replacing Ole Werner.

Looked a bit more into him looks to have done a really solid job with them! definitely worth contacting him!

Would certainly look at Werner and Jess Thorup. Both now readily available.

Thorup didn't last a year at Norwich and failed there? Wouldn't go near him personally.

The longer this drags on the longer it looks like what we’re planning revolves around us officially being an EFL club again.

Surely if who were going for is a free agent this would have been done by now
