From what I was told, we are willing to pay the compo, its just a matter of timing.

I've long suspected everything happen on July 1st for financial reasons, I'm not worried about no progression up to now but I fully expect things to move quickly tomorrow.

To be fair I’ve read that the Sheff Weds fans use Daddy Cool in their song for Röhl.

Incidentally, this is why I want this to get over the line.

 

The sideways possession football that Top is obsessed with isn't just boring to watch, it's outdated and ineffective. 

 

Wednesday’s stats here are eerily similar to those of our incestuous neighbours down the A46. It may not be pretty, but it works. And it's probably the only way we stay up if we do get promoted these days. The Russell Martin links made my shit itch because the next couple of years were obviously going to be a case of going up (just about) and then getting embarrassed again in the top flight.

 

With Röhl, you get the sense it'll be more sustainable. High press, fast transitions, plenty of pace and counter-attacking with ruthless efficiency. Again, not for the purists. But I want Manchester City et al whining and moaning about us because we haven't let them play and shithoused a 1-0 win, not a condescending pat on the head for trying to play 'the right way' after a 4-0 home loss. 

 

We have the players for it as well. Mavididi and Fatawu on the break could be lethal. We have quality coming through the youth. Okoli and Nelson will be excellent in this system. Justin, Coulibaly and Ricardo will be horrid to play against. What this system will require is fitness, and this is where Seagrave could finally come good. We have Champions League facilities in the Championship, so there is no reason at all why we shouldn't be the fittest team in the league. 

 

So fit, young, hungry, well-drilled, a bit of extra quality and a reasonable war chest. It could be exciting if we get it right.

I do think that fast incisive counter attacks with pacey forwards is inherently 'Leicester'.

 

Pretty much every success we've ever had has been like that. I also think we're better off being the underdog. That style of play just fits IMO. I think that fans will get on board with a team that plays fast football. It's also likely to mean we'll bin some of the dickheads we've got playing for us these days (Vestergaard, Faes, Soumare, Winks et al) as they won't fit.

I'd go further and argue that it's an absolutely core part of our identity. We even have a song about that style of play and how it was partly responsible for the greatest achievement not just in our history, but arguably that of the sport in this country.

We COUNTER ATTACK...'

 

Even under peak Rodgers, where we had enormous quality and saw a lot more of the ball, we weren't sideways passing or tiki taka merchants. We were aggressive, pressed high, got it forwards quickly and were ruthless to the opposition. We must have been horrid to play against.
