We were noticeably fitter than other sides at the start of the 23/24 campaign. Alvarez worked wonders here.

Bloke has/had a world class resume to be fair, we'd struggle to replace to the same level.

I would imagine we'll see Chris Powell, Sascha Lense and maybe his goalkeeper coach Sal Bibbo come with him. Sounds like Pedersen has the pick of either the manager role at Wednesday or a role at Brentford on the table so he'd pass.

He’d likely earn more money than both of them opportunities here though and not have to move from where he’s living.

There really isn’t that much to do and it’s a relatively low fee to pay Sheff Weds for him.

All his staff are out of contract so that would be easy too.

Theres no excuse for this to not be done and dusted today with an announcement of some sort from them and then us announcing all of it tomorrow.

BUT we are ran by idiots.

Yes that is always the fall-back isn't it.

We are run by a complete bunch of lunatics - we could still end up with Preki or some other gormless nerk

Is there not? Do we know the inner workings of both clubs? Let's not pretend that thinks aren't complicated with this situation.

Chansiri is not an easy fellow to deal with. If he think he's owed compensation for Rohl leaving then he'll be making it difficult. If we're trying to avoid paying it because Rohl might be able to release himself from his contract, that further complicates things.

I'd see him very much in the Solano/Berner/Hammond/Phillips role.

Experienced head on a short term contract who won't necessarily expect to start, but can still very much do a good job. Someone who will help massively with the cluster of young players I'd be expecting us to be using this season. Whether he'd even fancy having that role is another question. If he was up for it though, it'd be very shrewd on our part.

So experience for the sake of experience?

Yeh because we’re really short on that in the squad…

Owstalk saying the compo is £600,000

Can’t see that. Think there is a tweet posted (posted here too) that stats compensation likely agreed but doesn’t give an amount. May just be me being blind.
