If he does join us I don't think it will be long before he jumps ship. Sort of a Rohl-on, Rohl-off situation.

I have heard that he is not totally convinced about the project so he is only willing to sign a 1-year Röhling contract

Does this really make sense? The manager would be paying money that he had earned and been taxed on and would then receive a signing on bonus that would be taxed. If the LCFC paid Wednesday then it would be a tax deductible business cost wouldn't it? I am not an expert so probably wrong.

In practical terms it is effectively your latter scenario, it's just that contractually, it will be a clause to break the contract, and that right is exercised by the player/staff member not the club.

Otherwise it's just a straight negotiation between clubs to agree a deal (which is being avoided here)

Don't LCFC managers get typically announced on a Thursday/Friday?

Have a feeling there might not be any big club announcements from anyone in next few days because of Jota. They might feel like its a bit insensitive with any positive media etc.

Smooth radio mentioned on the news a couple of times that both Derby and Forest have sent condolences to Liverpool.

No mention of us - although that doesn't necessarily mean we haven't.

We haven't, which is odd as we often acknowledge these things.

A very good point, but businesses usually carry on as normal - unless it directly impacts on the club themselves (i.e., Liverpool).

Off-topic, sorry, but do clubs have some sort of insurance when something sudden like a death of a player happens (i.e. Sala with Cardiff a few years ago) - like the value of Jota is covered, so they can afford to replace him when the bereavement period at the club is over?

Yes they do, they will also have a death in service type arrange with a value that will go his next of kin. So the club and family are covered when tragedy like this happens.

i wouldnt even call it a shitshow, its much worse id say

they are heading to administration, and a long transfer embargo, which even then wont be lifted with new owners.

I dont mind Sheff Weds, likeable fans and always travel in numbers too

It's a good job we have things like PSR and owners tests to make sure clubs in the pyramid don't go down the shitter though ain't it?
