Odd if true as just gotta look at their forward options and he won't get a sniff there either! We've lost Cannon, Vardy, Edouard and at present that leaves Daka with no guarantee he wants to stay.

I have heard from a lad that is in our youth academy - two years younger than him that he is going to sign and will be here next season. so again take with a pinch of salt. Monga on the other hand, a lot less likely to stay he has offers from all over the globe!
MPH Posted 22 May 2025 Posted 22 May 2025 (edited) Sinking ship or a millionaires yacht. It’s not a very difficult choice really, if rumors are to be believed.. Edited 22 May 2025 by MPH

honeybradger Posted 22 May 2025 Posted 22 May 2025 Hopefully this is just agent talk. Despite being 16 with his numbers in u21 football we would be looking for a good championship loan if we were still in the PL. Considering we are actually in the championship he should be an important part of the squad next season. 2
Ric Flair Posted 22 May 2025 Posted 22 May 2025 Will find out soon enough, has to notify us within a week or two if he's off.

We should have given him more minutes, the only thing we can offer over some of the big PL sides is a quicker path to the regular first team football. 1

Finn Claw II Posted 24 May 2025 Posted 24 May 2025 As much as we moan we have brought a fair few players through - McAteer probably the latest but Stolarrzk, Thomas, Hamza, KDH, Barnes are good examples. Even Monga. He either needs a good loan or him and a few of the other Nelson, Alves etc should be told that they will be given 10-15 games at the start of the season to show that they can play at this level.

Haven't Nelson and Alves already shown they can play at championship level? 2

He was in and out of a side that collapsed and got relegated while he was there. If he can't establish himself in Cardiff's side, we can't expect him to be good enough for us. That doesn't mean he won't become good enough, of course. 1

The few times I saw Alves play he never looked ready, So I wasn't surprised when he didn't establish himself at Cardiff. But he's still young and time to grow a little more. It's not always about ability sometimes it's more to do with the physicality in the Championship. 1

JimJams Posted 24 May 2025 Posted 24 May 2025 Alves isn't going to start for us, but he could be a squad option the same way Kasey was last time at this level. 2

I think 1 goal and 3 assists is a very good return for Will Alves in a struggling Cardiff side. I think he only started 8 of those games as well. There is a lot more seasoned championship players with a much worse return than that. They probably started and played almost every game as well. 4
