I was surprised quite how bad they actually were. I think they're certs for bottom half next season. How far down, who knows.

The league is very competitive through the middle part with at least 40 points from 17th upwards. It will be interesting to see who dips down. The big issue being the gap between promoted sides of course.

I've never been much of a believer in 'false positions' in league tables, but I've been saying all season that Forest have been a rare example of one and got absolute pelters for such blasphemous statements on here.

They're average on the ball, create little and are dependent on defensive solidity, individual performances in the middle and a one-season-wonder of a striker getting on the end of crosses. Once any one of those dried up due to loss of form, fatigue or injuries, they were always going to look like a very, very average side. It always, to me, looked built on sand and I have turned out to have called it right.

This summer, they'll lose at least one big name and struggle to replace him. They'll start slowly as they struggle to balance Thursday nights with Premier League football, NES will come under pressure as they sink away to mid or lower midtable, which is a more realistic level for them, and Zorba will bring in a vastly inferior coach. I wouldn't even be that shocked to see NES end up at a La Liga club over the summer.

I think if a team overperforms then them actually reverting to the mean isn't that likely. Unsure how best to explain this but to simplify it with simply grading their results/performances - their performances were 6/10 with results that were 8/10. If they continue performing at 6/10, I expect their results to start becoming 6/10, on top of the 8/10 results that they've already gotten. In theory results/performances regressing to the mean should mean they are still above where they should 'really' be. You feel though that their performances have nosedived below 6/10. I genuinely post match yesterday wondered if they could be in a relegation battle next season.

It wouldn't take that much to go wrong.

Sell Gibbs-White, fail to adequately replace him, poor transfer window, a slow start and Zorba sacks Nuno in November with them in 15th and gets the replacement wrong. Then it's all up in the air. It's certainly a lot more plausible than Newcastle, Villa or Chelsea getting sucked in. Arguably more than the likes of Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth.

Honestly Nuno has got that group overperforming and playing to their limited strengths. His stock is high. I'd have him if the mafia boss does something daft, but i reckon like others have said he's good money for a prem or European club.

The disrespect towards him has been long-standing to be fair. He did a brilliant job at Wolves and begrudgingly has also done so at F*rest. Spurs were and still are a meme.

Bizarre notion that this season gives them a base for the next. Incredibly naive. For every Villa, there has been a Leicester or West Ham

or Wolves.

Doesn’t acknowledge that two of the big boys have had bad seasons. So that’s them down to 9th.

Throw in the statistical mean now levelling off - they end up in that group of clubs like Brighton et al.

Then you can see Murillo leaving and the need to find another striker. Squad depth is a killer. They’ve got to start pulling rabbits out of the hat then. Clubs start to become a bit coy dealing with you once they know you have money. They are good at spotting deals rsther than players but you won’t see them get a player in the type of Hudson-Odoi that cheaper again.

I don’t think it’s dawned on them how big missing the CL is really. Europe given its new extended nature isn’t the pull or prestige it once was

This only really applied if they made the Champions League. Europa League combined with a team who've dropped off anyway and an owner who is clearly going to raise expectations to quite unrealistic levels. I think the groundwork is done for a really tricky season next year.

They are also simply not at the level. They've been getting results way better than their performances for a while now. It's caught up with them just in time.

It's unlikely but not beyond the bounds of possibility that Man City will be found guilty in respect of the 115 FFP charges they face, and that their punishment is relegation - in place of the club finishing 18th...

I finally enjoyed some football again.

Can't believe their owner bollocked the manager on the pitch.

Our team came to life when Monga finally came on.

He has to be first pick ahead of McAteer.

According to everyone else today he didn't "bollock" anyone and was just being "passionate".. u believe that then you as well believe that the earth is flat...

He was pissed, personally I don't have an issue with that.  The man cares.

But he doesn't own the club anymore, apparently. So should be have been on the pitch?

Would be even funnier if they’re banned from European football and UEFA use him coming on the pitch as evidence he is still the owner.

I don’t think it was rocket science to work out their false position!

Try saying it on here between December and March. It was as if you'd just broken into folks' house and pissed on their kids.

Hopefully they change this stupid rule now. Hope he is ok and it isn't as serious as it sounds.

Thought it was pretty gross that they forced him to continue to be honest. ****ed up the sub which they could have altered, and decided to punish Awoniyi for it. Should have considered his safety first and played out the remainder with 10, which they sort of effectively were anyway.

It was such a blatant offside as well.

The most ridiculous protocol ever. Utterly pointless. If he'd have scored, she would have flagged, as she still did anyway.

This playing on rubbish adds absolutely nothing to the game. Go back to flagging as soon as the lino suspects offside.
