StevieH Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 This is all because we have signed rubbish over the last few years. Our recruitment used to be top notch but now it's appalling. Why has that happened? We need to get back to scouting good players. It's been panick buys both on the player and manager front.....and giving these players crazy contracts. Just got to hope the youngsters can come good. We won't be able to move the likes of Skipp, Ayew and Reid on as no one will want them. 1
Popular Post jayfox26 Posted 20 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 20 May 2025 There's a very large part of me that is sick to death of the continued poor running of the club but there is also a small part of me that feels there is witch hunt against us now. They've tried and failed several times and yet they keep coming after us. Part of me wants us charged to really show up our board and owner for the incompetent waste of space they all are, and another part of me thinks fck the PL and their shoddy rules that they have to keep changing cos they haven't got a clue what they are doing. It comes to something when our board/owner/Nick De Marco keep embarrassing these bunch of imbeciles! 5

Sick of the club in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Would rather do 10 years out of the premier league if it meant resetting the club back to a sustainable way. 1
FrankieADZ Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 thing that really pisses me off with all of this is, the club hasnt even tried to massively play the rules like Chelsea did the backlash we are getting for all this yet Chelsea selling their womens team, hotels etc to themselves isnt massively gone against 2
MrLuke Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 I find the timing very suspect, as well as ability to retrospectively changing the rules. This has been done for maximum impact; they could've very easily deducted us points this year, but as we have been a lost cause since December and have come to the obvious conclusion that penalising us next season will hurt us more. But I definitely don't think we are being singled out here. The only thing that is being singled out about us is that we are the only premier league team with an incompetent leadership.

They know they have no grounds to do so. It will go to the independent commission. That'll take a few months, we'll appeal it, that'll take a few more weeks and we'll probably get a verdict at some point in the winter. 1
LVFox Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 Another summer spent guessing of points deductions. Think we are far more likely this time (almost guarenteed). My early guess? 6

All we did was kick the can down the road. The punishment is going to be severe. The board has ****ed up and heads need to roll. That said, it's still not right the leagues can conspire after the financial breach and change there rules to retrospectively punish us because their rules weren't fit for purpose at the time.

Thewie Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 Wonder how the bloke in sk3 who gave UFS the v’s everytime they chanted about the board feels about the board now
Scotch Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 Is there still anyone defending the owners? They are running us into the ground.
teblin Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 Lots makes sense now. - Signing a free agent manager in Steve Cooper last summer - No further signings in Jan to speak of - Not sacking Ruud - Not renewing for Vards(might be his choice, might be a bit of both) Its all to put in Vardys words a "S**tShow". I just want to get some certainty back into everything, if we have failed to comply, get the punishment, then hopefully be able to start knowing where we stand next season. I'd assume we'll get -6, that might be taken down to -4 on appeal.

We've gone from playing in Europe, being in the top 6 of the league (and having a wage bill/transfer budget to try and sustain this), to having 2 relegations in 3 years. If Forest or Villa for example was to get relegated next season then that would make them comparable to our situation. Yes the clubs been poorly run for years but we chased a dream, it ended and now we have at least try to follow the rules by reducing the wage bill etc whereas like you said, the likes of Chelsea are doing dodgy stuff to get around the rules. 1

We're no longer in the PL, so why should it matter to them? It's like they're still smarting over us avoiding the earlier punishment. Yet Chelsea, Man. City, nothing ever materialises.

TrentFox Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 (edited) So how do others get away with vast losses, if this BBC article is correct? Yes their turnovers are massive compared to ours, but isn’t it the same fixed sum you are allowed to lose for all clubs? Edited 20 May 2025 by TrentFox
Les-TA-Jon Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 The worst thing is that of all the clubs to breach in recent years or come close to it - Forest, Everton, Villa - they have something to show for it. Progression up the table, PL survival, European football. We've technically breached 2 or 3 times and gotten relegated twice. Broken the loss making rules whilst also been less successful on the pitch - King Power masterclass. 2
The Horse's Mouth Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 13 minutes ago, Tommy G said: But you did say he will get more than he bought the club for, well what Vichai paid, which is probably true but that's a naive argument at best. If you buy something for £20m, but have to put in £20m a season for 5 seasons then sell it for £40m you haven't doubled your money. This is what KP have done, but on a different timescale and monetary figures. It’s a fair point, but wasn’t really the crux of the point I was making. King Power have improved the asset while at the club, if top indeed gets bored as the previous poster suggested then there would literally be no logical sense as to why he wouldn’t take that exit strategy as opposed to sitting on his hands and letting the club go bankrupt. There’s not really anything to suggest that’s in his nature really, as opposed to one of his previous example in Reading where there owner had an extensive background of doing the exact same thing and liquidating clubs before.
