Is Ruud a scumbag? Seems a fairly nice chap to me. His crime is being a crap manager.

His only crime was that he could not polish the turd he was presented with by those at the top of our Club.

Doesn't matter if he's a nice chap or not - Ex-Man U means scumbag in my book

In a weird way, leaving the uncertainly over the manager could help us shift some of the players we don’t want around. If I’m Winks or Vestergaard I’m telling my agent to get me out asap with Ruud still there.

get me out of here to a club foolish enough to match my wages?

Drinkwater? James? De Laet?

You forgot Simmo, but yeah all scumbags but less so as they were actually awesome for Leicester. So I would say Scumbags

Have we dodged the bullet if he goes to Rangers ?

And please don’t give Rudkin Ideas even mentioning Rooney’s name on here ffs you know he’d put the call in !!

I don’t think the club will pull the trigger on RvN until they have someone concrete lined up, who in their eyes, is a better fit. Both scenarios a concern!

The ironic thing is that Russell Martin will eventually leave Scotland with an enhanced reputation having defeated such titanic opposition as Ross County and Dundee. The same route as Gerrard.

And that's when we will get him!

I think Gerrard is quite a limited manager but the job he did at Rangers shouldn't be dismissed so readily "because Rangers.." Winning a title with the recent imbalance in the Old Firm is some doing and was a really impressive achievement..

It was completely undone by what he did at Villa, though. They were a complete mess when he left and have improved beyond recognition under Emery since.

Yeah which is why I said he was limited.. The point I was arguing was that you can't just beat "the rest" with Rangers and come back down South with a better rep than when you left..

I completely forget about Gerrard's Villa reign. I did think he'd be better than he was. Looked well out of his depth.

As stated his Rangers job gets a bit underappreciated.

Was up against a Celtic side led by Neil Lennon though

Had an awful record in the cups too up there

Thank Christ he's out the running.

I didn't realise he was ever in the running but we could do with a miracle worker for sure!

A Vegan Buddhist Intellectual who wants to play tippy-takka with substandard players will fit right in with the Rangers fanbase and they will deffo have loads of patience with him when he doesn't sweep all before him.

:D

Edit -  *this* fanbase  lol

All about opinions. Coming 1st in a 2 horse race when the only competitor had a mare season and won nothing for the first time in a decade doesn’t cut it really. If he was that good how did he become so bad overnight?

I've said I think he's limited!! But he did a good job up there..

I don't think your initial point about if Martin beats the also rans he returns with an enhanced reputation is correct.. Most managers that have been chopped by Rangers haven't gone onto bigger or better things despite doing just that..

They'll want to push Celtic close, especially with this US investment. It's not a gimme of a job..
