There isn’t an easy answer

all I know is that Epstein died more than six years ago (and that sexual exploitation ring hopefully with him)

Do we know if the Americans are providing access to the documents without redactions to British police?

kids are being raped today

id just rather save the twelve year olds who are about to be drawn into that cycle as my primary concern.

otherwise in twenty years time we’ll be talking about more enquires in the same way as the grooming gang stuff now and we’ll wonder how it happened

I really don't think this is as much of a zero sum idea as is being floated here, but fair enough.

The first of a few maybe ?

Doubt it unless there were other govt officials who were tied up with JE. you’d have expected the press to have found them over the years. Andrew and Mandy were well known close associates. Sadly the sexual exploitation is going to be very tough to prosecute.

It may not be that complicated of a case for all we know. Andrew hasn't been arrested for being a nonce; he's been arrested for misconduct in public office. It covers a wide range of things - which I imagine are a lot easier to prove. They might not need masses of resources to do this.

Prince Charles has always disliked him as has William (in fact no one in the Royal family apart from the Queen seemed to like him) so they might not help him much. They might even give evidence.

Meanwhile the bbc are reporting on gangs in London exploiting young teenage girls NOW.
Sometimes we get too busy looking at the forest that we don’t see the trees !

Teenage girls lured into forced sex by gangs in London, BBC finds https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjd9xnjyy8po

This is where resources should be pointed.  The Epstein investigation can be lower profile whilst kids who are being abused now are rescued (and those profiteering from it are dealt with).

This stuff is so disturbing. Absolute cancer in our society.

Not for being a nonce, but it's a start.

Hope he's having a happy birthday.

Worth saying misconduct of public office is an extremely serious offence sort of adjacent to treason and can carry penalties of up to lifetime in prison. This isn’t Al Capone being arrested on a tax technicality.

Curious as to how this is going down with those types who love the royals. You know the types.

The very type who has been arguing that he was never convicted of being a nonce and therefore isn't one.

I've no comeback.

Well, that's a take

Keep hearing what other Royals think of Andrew, but it's all rumours. What matters is what *happens*. It's a big moment in our country's history - a genuine test of our constitution. (The constitution that to my mind failed when the £12M payoff was made)

It's not really rumours though. Long before any of this Epstein stuff came to light it was known that Charles and Andrew didn't like each other. Decades ago it was known about.

I do agree with your second point. Unlike in America where they don't seem to be doing much apart from helping cover it up. I imagine Mandelson will be next; we've already seen emails which could fall into the same charge. Hopefully they'll both get sent to prison.

Whatever the Royals do, how they've handled this Virginia Giuffrie situation will stain them. They helped Andrew pay it off, whilst claiming innocence. Then after years of smears they wait till she's committed suicide to force Andrew to give up his titles. It's a real shame she isn't alive to see all this.

Americans had the right idea in 1776. And the French in 1793. And let's be honest if there are two nations whose elites would never be involved in high profile noncing scandals, it's the Americans and the French.

Mandeslon must be expecting. a knock on the door

wonder if he’ll suddenly have an appointment in a country without an extradition treaty …….

It's perfectly possible to be a monarchist but still abhor Andrew for being a contemptible individual

No! No nuance! Only generalisations!
