American corporate pay has always been insane.  That said Musk is not really just the CEO, but I can't fathom how he takes that much money out.

I'm not sure how it works, but its clearly nothing even vaguely resembling pay for a job.  Other shareholders are obviously betting that Elon getting richer makes them get richer.  I won't be buying a Tesla anytime soon that is for sure.

They did after all, only this week, have a funeral for a 78 year old woman who, for the sin of having a different opinion on things, was battered to death in her own home by someone believed to be part of the "progressive" left. We can all use quotation marks.

 

Perhaps you could declare your name and address, stand for public office, and experience what the hate is like?

I did it in 1997, everyone on the streets when I was campaigning was lovely, except of course the hard left.

Who would tell me to my face that they wanted me dead.

I wasn't even 20 years old and standing to be a local councilor, you know, car parks and bins and stuff.

 

It's only got worse since.

In other news, interesting (though I use that word strictly academically in this case) journalism from the Beeb about women in Afghanistan today. There does appear to be a pretty deep schism in the ruling Taliban about a few different things.
