Those Nepal floods are sadly another example of how the natural world can be more brutal and devastating in a heartbeat than any humans have the power to be.

 

We should act, prioritise, and plan, accordingly.

The speed at which such devastation occurs is truly scary. 

 

I honestly do not get the mentality of so many resources in a zero sum system, across so many places, being put into countering purely human based threats, when nature can come up with something like that pretty much on the spot and with precious little warning. 

 

One would think that it's the job of any community - tribe, nation, globe, whatever - to defend against the greater threats to them first.

Floods were supposedly down to the collapse of a glacier into water. Not an earthquake as first though. The glacier hitting the floor of the waterway is what caused the 5.2 magnitude detection. Scary stuff.

Such a childish beyatch.  Instead of wasting precious time renaming something that legally has 0 binding (for Canada or the rest of the world), he should be focusing on the trade negotiations.

From what I've seen it's more like the work experience you'd get at school than free labour. Could be decent since a supermarket is a pretty good environment for a first job. 

 

The devil will undoubtedly be in the detail. If they are actually going to teach young folk a few skills then great, if they will just be stacking shelves like you suggest then awful.

Supermarkets are cutting roles and people have to do multiple jobs so not sure they will just want a bunch of kids to just stack shelves once or twice a week.

 

And anyway won't most of them just spend the time standing around chatting - sure we all did that as youngsters in a part time job?!

My amusement with this is that businesses have been under attack by this government since they got in. Now they want them to do more to help neets. Unless it's free labour, then it will be the middle finger from the majority I suspect.

 

How about making it easy for businesses to do well then forcing them to help instead.
