If Top sells up soon and moves on how will he be regarded and remembered by Leicester fans? Will there be gratitude for the good times? Or will he just be remembered for his incompetence since his Dad's tragic death?

I'm disgusted by how he's run the club over the last few years and think it's definitely time for him to move on but I will always have a huge amount of gratitude for what he and Vichai (mainly Vichai) have done for us as a club. I have some sympathy for him as I feel his been rocketed into a position he didn't expect to be in anytime soon. He just isn't cut out for it sadly

He can do no wrong in the eyes of plenty. He's been nothing short of a total disaster. If you managed to restore us from what we are now, to what we were when he inherited us, you'd arguably have done a better job than someone like Benham or Bloom. He's been about as inept as he could possibly have been. The longer he's here the worse it gets - I'm almost intrigued to see quite how far it actually falls.

Just a shame he couldn't really follow in his late father's footsteps after the October 2018 tragedy. Admittedly not helped by Covid that happened since then plus not forgetting he paid a large debt off recently to balance the books, PSR allegations incoming again or not....! I think like most now, I have mixed feelings towards him and think the time is about right for him to sell up now.

I think you can probably split the fan base in terms of about 30% who thinks he can't do anything wrong, 50% who would prefer him to act on his failings and would go back to loving him if he did and 20% who just want him gone.

I'm more than OK with him staying on as owner but he needs to divest himself of Rudkin & Susan & rejuvenate the board. Once he's done that he can let a professional run the club & he can go play Polo.

For anyone who knows history he’s basically King John who cocked things up after his father Henry II had a long and successful reign.

Such a shame because Vichai left the club in such a strong position. I know we won the cup under Vichai, but ever since it’s almost like he’s not been too bothered.

Unfortunately there's never been any indication he is going to do that. It's like saying I'm happy for us to give Danny Ward a new contract and the no.1 shirt as long as he stops being so shit

Our best seasons came after Vichai's death. Finishing top 6 twice, winning the Community Shield and FA Cup. It's staggering we did that. All after he died.

Also remember we all want Rudkin out yet it was Vichai who put him in that role.

There's a lot to argue on both sides for me. Vichai wasn't amazing. In the end he was lucky that Pearson actually wanted to come back.

I don't think I'm in any of those three groups.

Never loved him and never will, he's a business person with an obscene amount of money acquired through nepotism.

Director of Football is the role where we most need change, just changing owner isn't necessarily going to solve anything.

Top has more incentive to look after the club (even if he's not very competent at it) and protect some of the fundamental traditions, than most potential buyers of the club would have because there will always be an emotional attachment to the club because he bought it with his dad. He's not going to go Vincent Tan on us. I'd like him to act on his failings, mainly by delegating to a better DOF, but I'll never love him, he just owns a football club that football fans should own.

The more time that goes by the worse my feelings towards Top get, which is a real shame.

That being said I’ve never quite been as in love with King Power as a lot of the fan base were at the height of our success. Yes, King Power (and in particular Vichai) were decent owners, but they had their slice of good fortune too. It’s also worth remembering they didn’t buy us as a philanthropic act - a large part of it will have been for completely understandable but ultimately selfish reasons (brand awareness for KP, prestige and status etc). In many ways it was a relatively cheap marketing initiative, particularly in their early years of ownership. But that’s not to say they haven’t done good things along the way too (particularly with the children’s hospital for example).

Where Vichai stood out and to his credit got things spot on was he was able to connect with the fanbase. There was a genuine warmth about him and he seemed to have an ability to understand the everyday hardworking fan. How many times for example did we see him out amongst crowds etc talking to fans and shaking hands…I’d argue at most home games he was at you’d see some element of it. Compare that with Top, who for the Liverpool game this season whizzed in with about 4 security vehicles, got out to lay some flowers at his dads statue but was at all times surrounded by his heavies, then got straight back in his SUV and into the comfort of the board room no doubt. Perhaps I’m being unfair with this example, but Top just feels a more distant owner to me. It also annoys me that he’s soon out to celebrate on the pitch with the players etc when things are going well (FA Cup, Community Shield, Preston etc), yet we never hear or see from him at the smallest sign of trouble. To me that’s not leadership, or certainly not the type of leadership I want.

He wasn't amazing, definitely wasn't infallible, but he was decisive and appeared to learn from his mistakes.. He might have appointed him, but I don't think Rudkin would still be in that role now under Vichai..

Best way to consider it. Vichai left us with one of the best midfields in the league. Ndidi, Maddison and Tielemans.

Our best midfielder last season was ****ing Soumare.

Vichai time we won the league and than rebuilt a whole new team competing at the top end of the league again.

Top has seen us relegated twice in 3 seasons.

Vichai negotiated with Mahrez, Kante, Maguire (the contract was with Vichai the sale happened after)  to either sign new contracts or leave for clubs where we get the highest possible bid.

Top has seen multiple assets leave for free.

Top’s best team was very much built during the Vichai era.

Top I hope is remembered for what he is. A lazy, good for nothing spoilt brat who disgraced his father’s legacy.

Harsh ! but unfortunately Fair

Although our best year was 2016, our best team and squad was definitely the one who finished 5th twice and won the FA cup. I was glad when Roger’s left and he should have gone sooner, but his appointment by Top was a master stroke and a real coup at the time.

Also, wasn’t it Top that persuaded his dad to hire Ranieri?

Whilst a shake up is overdue by a couple of seasons at least, I think Top can be considered to have been more successful than the vast majority of our other owners in our proud (and  at times not so proud) history
