Bilal is gone mate. I'm surprised he was allowed even make the bench last night

is he though? cos youd think someone would have triggered the release clause by now, once that goes the club can charge as much as they want for him

Wonder if we'd stand any chance of getting Sverre Nypan on loan for the season? He's already better than Championship class IMO, but not sure he'd get guaranteed football in the Prem as he would with us if El Khannouss went. Could be the perfect link up. Although no doubt ends up on loan at Girona.

Going to Boro! 😭

Is he? Who’s paying the £30m for a player who played in one of the worst PL teams ever? Not happening. Once his clause expires, then teams will probably make a move, but we will price them out.

If a club wanted to offer less than the release clause, they were free to do so and we were free to accept.

I think it’s the terms of the release clause that is putting teams off, it would appear that the clause includes majority of payment up front, so could be that clubs will negotiate after the clause has expired a larger fee but payable on more favourable terms over the duration of the contract.

Presumably following which we use Macquarie Bank to turn into an up front payment to us…

Chelsea paid £30m this summer for a player from a side who managed to be even worse than us. It really isn't that beyond the realms of possibility.

The last two upfront payments have disappeared into thin air.....

Chelsea are Chelsea. I can’t see Newcastle taking that risk, especially when his clause expiring soon, why would a team pay the £30m when they can wait and try a low ball last minute job? Just thinking from the buyers perspective.

and for which we should be asking for closer to £40mil since Hutchinson is going Forest for £37mil
