Not if it’s a mandatory option, he’s on loan and then he signs permanently.

I imagine it's only an obligation after a set amount of games.

Soton get absolutely ridiculous fees for Fernandes and Dibling meanwhile we scrape £40m for Mads and Bilal.

Dibling would be more like us selling Monga and Mads was injured and then had a dodgy second half of the season. It’s lower than we would want ideally but teams know how ****ed we are financially and we need to raise cash.

Imagine Rudkin has set it to 50 games

If it’s that it’s poor, but the word mandatory makes me think they have to buy him.

Mandatory option I assume just means obligation (just depends whether there are any clauses to activate it - games played etc.)

Do not trust him at all about the value though, he hasn't had a clue all transfer window about it

It’s not hard to read between the lines here. £5 million “loan fee”. £25 million next summer to move permanently. Still get the £30 million we were asking for.

Well yeah, but we could be underselling ourselves if he has a stellar season and his value could be significantly higher...

Honestly think Fernandes is better than Bilal & many think Dibling is a future England international (& implied 'English tax').

I imagine Bilal is one of those rumoured to be half-arsing it or not bothering with training

Looks the type.  I've never taken to him, I'd happily see him gone

lol

hang on a minute lads!

we don’t actually know what’s going on. And the lad stands no chance anyway if he “ looks the type”

yes he wants to leave, but you don’t do yourself any favours, or do yourself any good with comments like that.

What's a Mandatory Option? It's either an option or it isn't, surely. It's not mandatory if it's an option.

I'm so glad someone called this out. I mean...what?! lol

It's poorly worded, but it's essentially a way of saying "If a clause is met, the option to buy becomes mandatory... if it's not, then it remains an option"

An option usually gives one party a right to exercise it.

In this instance it could be our option to enact the permanent transfer following his loan and the receiving party are contractually bound by it.

Is there a chance that "mandatory option" is just another way of saying obligation?

Obligation via conditions.

Relatively happy with that! especially the loan fee!

Clearly the rat didn’t want to be here, credit to Marti for dragging him at Preston and then sticking to his guns and leaving him out the last 2 games!

Imagine if he’d played , scored a couple and was now going they’d be a lot more uncertainty and instead Marti’s given Page 100 minutes of senior football that he wouldn’t have got.

NEEDS replacing tomorrow!
Jordan James please 🤞🏻
