I suppose it kind of makes sense if we are OK PSR wise this season. Get £5m now and £25m on next years books. Gives us a head-start on next years FFP.

Yeah mandatory option reads as obligation to me too

We have the option to make it mandatory for them to buy him. Once we exercise the option, they have the obligation.

I took it as they have an option to buy that becomes an obligation once certain criteria is met.

Not fussed about the price, he was clearly a disruption/distraction to the manager's plans and didn't want to be here, and it's best he moved on. Now lets spend some money on some signings who will improve us and want to play for us.

So 26 mill, that’s poor, paint up how you want. In this current market that’s very very poor.

The club didn’t want to sell, sure seems like it for a player in contract for a good few years

Palace must of been offering even less

For me they have undone ANY good work. Wake up everyone. We have basically sold bilal and mads for the same price Southampton got for fernandes. They got 12 points. Horrific business but fully expected.

What does the 12 points have to do with the Fernandes fee?

Fernandes 2 goals, 4 assists

BEK 2 goals, 3 assists

That extra assist was worth well over £10m.lol

I am sure he will come good at some point in his career.

I'm not a fan, as he needs to develop his end product. Maybe a change of system might help. Great engine, and has that aura about him.

I bet that deal is this, and next year's PSR pivot.

He doesn't half get mardy though.

Scenes when he doesn't do well in Germany and demands to leave for Exeter.

We will still not sign anyone else yet again making our selves weaker leaving ourselves no time to replace him. I hope I'm wrong but don't see it another completely crap window we now have a thread bare squad and are always 1 or 2 injuries away from disaster

What's a Mandatory Option? It's either an option or it isn't, surely. It's not mandatory if it's an option.

Just thinking that, it's an oxymoron.

It's either mandatory or an option, perhaps it's just bad English from someone whose English is not a first language and it's an obligation? An obligation to buy makes far more sense than a loan with an option for a players who walks into our first XI.

How does that make any sense?

We don't want to sell him. If no one wanted him at £30m release clause, then anyone that wants him now will find the asking price increase.

Not at all. Nobody was willing to pay 30 to meet the clause. They will 100% be knocking and testing our resolve at lower figures

I keep sending an estate agents an offer of £20 and a box of Carling for a house, I think their resolve is starting to break. Any day now.
