Allegedly Marti wanted him gone at all costs …

What happened during half time at Preston then? That’s the real story here.

Could definitely be some creative accounting going on.

Might be a really low threshold option like "Triggers after 10 games" just to ensure we get the fee in next years accounts?

Probably likely when we haven’t spent a penny and have brought in a decent amount already this summer.

But if it was that, it would be an obligation rather than an option.

Then why not just call it an obligation?

Ultimately this is an element of what is so shit about PSR, there could be all sorts of accounting tricks and elements going on here and the fans are none the wiser and will just sling mud.

Just to complicate things. Some “options” have triggers. Obligations are essentially just transfers without having to pay up front,  no way out. Theres examples of some “option” loan players making 19 appearances and never being seen again!

we did it 2 years ago, both Akgun and Abdul came in with options but the games played and the promotion made the Abdul one become an obligation where as Yunus stayed an option

But that’s what I mean, then it’s a bad deal for us as then we aren’t going to get that money for certain next summer.

I think what i'm trying to say is it could be something as silly as "5 appearances" which BEK will 100% do.

We'll never know of course. But not worth reading into IMO... he's gone, he's theres, it's all semantics and PR (PSR :P)

There would surely be no benefit to us or them structuring the deal like that though. 20/25 appearances would make sense to them not us, 5 appearances would be ridiculous on their part.

Either way, i recon this report is wrong and it will be a permanent deal.

I can defo only see this going one of two ways, 1) he kills it over there, is worth double that next year and Stuttgart make a silly profit on him straight away, or 2) he stinks the place out there and he’s back with his tail between his legs getting booed by our fans next August. Either way we’re getting shafted.

It wouldn't be anywhere near half, they have sold over £100m this summer with potentially another big sale on the way

They are also willing to spend a fair bit of it as they are spending about £25-30m on a player from Belgium and would have way more than half left over

We have been weak on this if it is true

May have been the only way to deal with a bad egg.

There was talk over the weekend that he didn’t want any disruption in the dressing room for the rest of the season and so wanted him gone asap. Would also explain why he hasn’t been involved at all since Preston.

If he ends up coming back, no doubt the people at the stadium will cheer him like some hero.

So Winks should be gone tomorrow then?

as I said them getting BEK on loan just frees up more money, from a footballing POV it is a better deal for them on paper but long term it might not be cos BEK will had a strop in the end like he has here

Plot thickens here doesn't it.

Taken off half time vs Preston after playing doggo. Rest of the team completely out of sorts for the rest of that game with very subdued celebrations for Mongas first senior goal, and the team not being able to see out the game.

Marti appearing very (outwardly) professional, whilst rumours are rife that Bilal is playing snake.

Last 2 games squad have appeared much happier and settled, even with playing a 17 year old in that position who (whilst having great potential) isn't currently as gifted or confident but appeared to be doing the job he was asked to do.

Potential suitors (Palace and Spurs) pull out the race and only way to get the snake gone is a pretty lame loan deal.

The british clubs clearly clocked him didn't they, and didn't want the hassle when there were other options around with better stats.

Good take.

Yes, he hasn't had time in the game to command **** behaviour risk.

**** leaving Genk, **** leaving Leicester. If you're a PL side, buying on potential, that **** risk is not worth it, certainly not £25m +

Bet this is a simple loan with an option, he's ****ed us and himself thanks.

All adds up to be fair.

I heard it was more the week before. Was disruptive all week in training.

Makes you realise just how bad we were in the transfer market last year if this was our best buy. Woeful is an understatement. Including managers it seems. I can’t see this year being better but at least we have a decent crop of kids and a good core with what’s left.
