But importantly a sale also frees up £5m in amortisation costs for each of the next 3 years. Not to mention his wages, which (while none of us will know for sure) are likely to be at least £2m-£3m per season. In an ideal world we'd get more for him but I'd be ok with him going for £22m considering how screwed we are financially. Plus we have to factor in that it’s highly unlikely he fancies hanging around to play the likes of Oxford, Preston, Wrexham, Hull etc etc when he can and should be playing top league football. 2

Oh yeah I agree with all of the above, but it highlights the absurdity of the whole situation. 1
OadbyBlue Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 They’ve already signed Maza who is a similar player at a similar stage of his career. I’d be surprised if they go for him rather than a more ready made Wirtz replacement with higher output.
James_lcfc Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 Output wasn't great last year but he's clearly a brilliant footballer. Pretty much the only reason I was quite looking forward to watching us play this season. If we can afford to keep him we should. Even if it means no new striker and relying on Patson up top.
Stadt Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 He didn't put up great numbers last year which is what I thought would put off bigger clubs. However if Leverkusen have tracked him since his time at Genk then they'll be aware his output was severely stunted. 1
Lambert09 Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 (edited) I think there would be a few games that had a team been watching they’d have seen the potential. The man city game in particular, I don’t think it would be too wide of the mark to suggest he was the best player on the pitch. It’s hard to know if he’s inconsistent or we were just dragging him down. Edited 25 June 2025 by Lambert09
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 Sad to see him go for less than we paid for skipp 😂 1 1

Finn Claw II Posted 25 June 2025 Posted 25 June 2025 As much as I love an accounting discussion, it’ll be nice to see us actually generate a good fee for a player. who knows we can but dream we spend money wisely next. bilal will be better with better players around him.
Popular Post LE3_Fox Posted 25 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 25 June 2025 One of the few bright sparks of the squad. Him alongside Monga and Fatawu would be absolutely lethal. Will be sad to see him go. 9
SB87_LCFC Posted 26 June 2025 Posted 26 June 2025 (edited) I think a season in the championship could have a positive effect on his career, at just 21, he's got time on his side, but echo what some others have said if we are in THAT bad a situation where we need to sell and he is happy to try his hand there, then it is what it is and its another ship that has sadly sailed. I don't think anyone's performances last season justify a huge price tag, but for some context it was a slow start here for Bilal, Cooper seemed to favor Buonanotte, then when RVN came in he was given more of a chance to play, not sure if the comments that he wanted him at PSV were true, or he is an avid FM player. He didn't play a full 90 until we played Man City in December - by this point, the damage was more than done from a team perspective. We saw flashes of quality, also saw a bit of grit, not scared to put tackles in or take a booking - not something we would see a lot of from our previous no.10 - he'd sooner push back his hair and pout if someone else took a free-kick. splinterdream Posted 26 June 2025 Posted 26 June 2025 Is it now public knowledge he doesnt have a release clause? You'd have thought if he did, someone would have snapped him up by now

He looks a real talent, unless of course we're screwed financially so we'll take what we're given
NewquayFox Posted 26 June 2025 Posted 26 June 2025 Great player for us last season (reminded me of Mahrez in his first season, too clever for some of our players) we should be looking at making clear profit of at least £20 million on him with a decent sell on fee as him & Hermansen are our only true saleable assets…

If he stayed with us for another season and played well, he’d be back in the PL after that, because someone would buy him. He’s only 20. And he’s not THAT good. A season in the championship is just what he needs. Remember kids, as Zammo said, just say no!
SB87_LCFC Posted 30 June 2025 Posted 30 June 2025 Just seen Leverkusen have agreed to sign Malik Tillman, so that might put an end to this rumour 3

The source was Sacha Tavolieri, the same person that broke the news BEK was signing for Leicester. Tav has set himself up like a mini Fab for Belgian football, he's pretty reliable and it seems likely he's connected to a fair few agents in Belgium. He posts some click baity shit that's only a half story, like this, the same as Fab does. But when he says something is happening with a Belgian player it usually is. However, all he said was that BEK was one of several players Leverkusen were looking at and nothing was confirmed. Edited 30 June 2025 by Finnegan 3

Partly why I was shocked this had gained any traction if it was only FootyInsider, makes more sense now!
