Not sure whether possible but IF he goes hope we are able to insert a sizeable sell on fee: the lads going to be some player

The Source is a pretty respected ITK in relation to Tottenham related news, so appears BEK is lined up as the Morgan Gibbs White replacement, hopefully we can secure north of £30m and some decent add ons and % sell on.

I still think that we are grossly overestimating how much interest there will be for a player that only got 2 goals and 3 assists despite playing over 2000 minutes in the PL last season.

We can all see he has potential, but he's not even close to achieving it yet, and so why should anyone take the risk of paying out over £20m for a player that is currently only potential? And that's assuming there is a release clause, because if not, Rudkin will be holding him hostage for a small fortune that no one would think of paying.

I do think this is nothing but agent talk. Reminds me of when Tielemans was linked with every club in the world every summer window, yet we never received a genuine bid for him.

I could be wrong, but I'm just seeing smoke from a smoke machine, not an actual fire.

The good old eye test. I don't think his game will ever just be about pure output as that's not his main skillset and has so much more to his game. £20m would be an absolute steal.

If we have placed a silly release clause

in I give up, it was this obvious we were getting relegated. what is the point in getting behind a new manager or feeing positive about any of it. Different functions of the club actively working against each other. Rotten.

Bilals agent  probably insisted on a low release clause.

His agent is probably savvy enough to know theres so much money in the Premier League, 20 odd million for someone who had an OK season is a drop in the ocean.

Can see this transfer strategy being the norm for us now, decent players with potential using us as a stepping stone.

Also, I thought we stopped putting in release clauses after Kante?

Can’t remember who it was, but one of the journos effectively said that we don’t have the luxury of telling players that anymore. We aren’t an attractive enough option as a team that will now be between divisions (if we’re lucky) and bigger picture-wise, it probably factors into why we handed out so many unnecessarily large contracts even when we were a more attractive option, we were still most players’ bridesmaid

Then that would be another stupid decision by our board.  No Kante, no title.  No release clause, we don't get  kante.

You've heard of the term "negotiation", right? Who said that without the clause he wouldn't have come? There's other sweeteners out there, and he was relatively unknown at the time, from a bottom half Ligue 1 side.

It’s shit having to agree to release clauses but the reality is that last summer we were newly promoted, highly likely to get relegated and have a points deduction. It’s either pay astronomical wages or agree to a release clause to persuade one of europes top young players to come. What do you do?

Well known that he was reluctant to join and insisted on a release clause.

It's really strange but throughout the last 10-11 years there has always been players where i knew i was going to be gutted when/if they left (Mahrez, Vardy, Fofana, Youri, Maddison, Barnes, KDH, Kasper - List is endless as we've been blessed with some fantastic players) but apart from Monga and Fatawu im just not that bothered, I dunno if thats because my levels of enjoyment has been drained through the running of the club or just we don't have any players im that bothered if they are here or not. Think Bilal could develop into an amazing player, think he's going to be a Kramaric, right player, wrong time.

Not massively bothered if we get a good fee.

We need to sell him for "a lot" (given the circumstances) just to not take a loss in the year.
